I am firing my cable provider (WOWWAY) today after ATT installs their stuff and gets me up and running on their scam. I am going to cancel my landline phone provided thru WOW, and just not have a landline any more.

My question for the hive is, can I Bluetooth my cell phone to my AIO printer and send/receive FAX?

I'm going with no. Cell phone is digital, fax is analog.

There are apps however that will let you get faxes on a phone/iPad device. You can then print from that app.

I actually had to install an analog line this week for a Dictaphone system. Yeah, the tech was surprised too that we were temporarily supporting a site with this archaic technology.

I do not use FAX very much, but when I do, I use https://www.gotfreefax.com to send. Free, with some restrictions.

To date, I have not found a convenient way to receive FAX, at no cost.

Anything that can be faxed can be emailed much easier. Put it on the copier, save to file, email away. Digital signatures for legal purposes.

Well, unless you're still using a wood fired copier......

Plenty of online fax systems that can fax to your phone and fax out any document / photo you can make, all from a phone or computer.

I use iFax.

Pretend that you are not able to use a telephone. Try to use email for communication with businesses, especially with medically-related businesses. You will quickly discover that FAX is generally usable, but email is not.

Very true. You are right about medical practices. You may be able to log into the patient centered EHR but most communication is by Fax.

I work remotely via a VPN. When I am on the VPN, my local printer is not recognized, and my work IT will not allow a connection through the VPN for it.

I have 2 choices...
1) Disconnect from the VPN, scan the document to my computer, reconnect to the VPN, open the email and attach the file.
2) Load the document, punch the number, hit send.

I choose option 2.

To answer the OP, no I don't think you can send a fax through a bluetooth connection. I know my Brother fax won't do it. You might be able to scan to your device and do a virtual fax though.

I may have to reconsider, and keep the landline through ATT. IF, and I repeat "IF" they ever get around to doing my install.

On Friday when I signed up, they said they would install on Monday between 12-4pm. On Sunday I get a text that they will be out Tuesday between the same hours, at 3:30 today they texted me that they can not make the time commitment after all, of course I could have kept waiting for them to come later. I cancelled, and rescheduled for Thursday. If they do not "giterdone" Thursday, I will tell them to kiss my ass, and stay with Wow till I find a better deal.

We get prescriptions faxed to us all the time at my work in the Pedorthic Dept., from the doctor's offices, however we are not set up to receive digital faxes & sometimes the doctor's office tells the patient that they faxed us the info, but we end up not getting it because they are sending it as a digital fax. So I would think that it may be possible to set up, but would not be as reliable as a regular fax if it were really important to get stuff to the places that need it because from what I understand, both the sender & the recipient would need to have digital capabilities.
