Do you think theres a USSS/CAT team member hanging out by the main breaker waiting for shit to go sideway so he can cut the power? Or is this more of a, "we're in a building so plan accordingly"?

If you are the only folks with night vision you don't think cutting the lights would give you a tactical advantage?

OK, but still...

Ever read "Black Hawk Down"? (This specific point is shown briefly in the movie, but the book highlights it.)

The majority of the Rangers going on that raid in Mogadishu that day left their NVDs behind. They figured it was a quick daylight raid, so why bother?

They then got pinned down and spent an entire night holed up in various buildings and surrounded by enemies, wishing they had brought their night vision equipment. (And more ammo. And more water.)

Nowadays, NVDs are even smaller, lighter, and less obtrusive than in the 1990s. It's a minimum of extra hassle to bring them, and they could prove essential if the situation goes sideways.

No security team is going to create more confusion and chaos than necessary, their goal is to get the principal off the target. Where they're at is largely a permissive environment.

We heard quite a bit about Clinton’s behind closed doors and how the Bush 2 family was super nice and would stay local during holidays so the White House staff could see their families. But Bummer would insist on going to Hawaii with a full crew?

A good friend has been around the last three administrations. The current administration and their family are the nicest most polite he has been around.

My 1/2 Unit was the Trauma Doc during the visit of Pres. Obama in our under served region.

The SS met w her the week prior and explained what actions would occur if her services were needed.

Professional and prepared was my wife’s comments concerning the Secret Service cats and their briefing.
