I am happy. It would seem, that the Lord has indeed blessed me with a tolerant, forgiving, and loving wife.

I am saddened to see threads from others where their marriages are suffering or failing. I am heartened to see posts within my thread that speak to other successful marriages.

It is a shame that our society does not celebrate long marriages as much as it celebrates non-unions.

stick-to-it-iveness is something you should take pride in. congratulations on the milestone.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Congrats! 35 here for me and mine.
Funny how the difficult times seem vague but the good times are easily recalled.

Best to you and yours'.

Congratulations. Wife and I celebrated 40 years last month. How does a marriage survive that long? Well, you just both have to want it to.

I was always taught to respect my elders, but it keeps getting harder to find one.
