I was coming home from a friend's house acouple of weekends ago. There was a Kestrel on a fence post. He takes off and makes a beeline through a field and WAM!, takes out a little bird.

Feathers went everywhere! The little guy was feasting good. It was cool to see.

Looks like fish was on the menu today

Just yesterday I was going to Wallie World to buy the new Star Wars Rouge One movie and a big Redtail hawk packing a rat for lunch almost flew into the side of my car! I believe it scared the both of us about the same. Mr. Redtail hawk didn't drop his lunch though, gots to have priorities ya know!

He was beautiful, and it's nice to see that rats are having a hard time about it!

Ospreys are pretty specific to fish, just like falcons are pretty specific to smaller birds (when they stoop in flight, they actually spread their talons and "punch" the prey, knocking the wind out of it, iirc).

I think it's possible, but unlikely. These are very specialized hunters we are talking about. I spect Mars or Screaming might have more info.
