I know family friendly and Las Vegas should not be used in the same sentence. Once again consulting the all knowing oracle of knowledge that is SigForum for ideas.

The wife and I have been tasked with putting together something in Las Vegas during the World Archery Tournament in February for our archers and families. Ordinarily I find forced socialization cringe worthy but as coaches, we kind of have to do it. Suggestions that include something other than cardboard pizza at Chuck E. Cheese are appreciated.

So far the one idea I've had is Dave & Buster's. Enough options there for people to do what they want and the kids to blow off some steam. The only disadvantage to it is being located in Summerlin which is about a 30 minute drive from the tournament at the Southpoint Casino.

Thanks in advance.

Locations at Green Valley Ranch and Sunset Station might be closer to you.

My first thought is Maggiano's. Family style entrees would make it a little easier on the old wallet but the only location I'm aware of is on the Fashion Center on the strip. Should be able to park at the Palazzo across the street for free though.

I've been there. Probably the best Mexican food I ever ate. Take money, lot's of money.

Edit: ditch the crowd and take your wife and daughter for a treat.

Don't know how far from the strip, but the one time we had a large group dinner was at the Bellagio buffet. $38 bucks, kids half off.

Back in 2001 I took my nephews to the Tournament of Kings show at Excalibur Hotel.

https://www.excalibur.com/en/e...nament-of-kings.html

It's a medieval joust with horses and knights and sword fighting. It was a lot of fun. They serve dinner without silverware, you eat with your hands just like they did back then. It was also kinda loud, you might want to pack some ear plugs if you don't enjoy the sound of cannons indoors.

For the fun and games I like the Pin Ball Museum at 1610 E. Tropicana.
Vintage games that can be played at vintage prices. $10 goes a long way there.

Not sure what to suggest for a group that large for a meal together. Possibly Hash House a Go Go. Not sure if there is one down by Southpoint.

I have had the buffet at the M which is one of the MGM Casinos that is south of the Southpoint and it was very good if you like that sort of thing. I'm not normally a fan of buffets but the food quality was good on that one.

Battista's Hole in the Wall. Italian Food.

Menus are written on the wall. Pricing is based on menu tiers, and is inclusive of everything including house wine.

Food isn't particularly great, but free unlimited alcohol and tiered pricing makes splitting the bill in a large group easy--everyone agree to order food within the tier and it's all done.

Alternatively, hit up a Casino buffet. The Rio has easy parking and is off strip and their buffet is world famous. No problem splitting the bill or agreeing on a cuisine as each patron pays their own way before they head in and plenty of choices for everyone to eat. Children can walk through the Casino no problem so long as they aren't loitering in a gaming area.

The Hofbrauhaus might be a good compromise for all involved, and would easily accommodate 30-40.

There is a Maggianos in Downtown Summerlin (right by Dave and Busters-which the OP was asking about)

That Dave and Busters is fairly nice because it is new- I seem to remember it opened August 2016. I also remember that it is really loud inside! I wouldn't be dissuaded by the 30 minute ride to Summerlin. Summerlin is a fairly wholesome suburb of Vegas and if you are traveling with families who don't want to see gambling and the other vices of Vegas, Summerlin is a great place. When not overseas, we live in Summerlin, and I'm not afraid of raising my young girls there.

Hi,
Look into "Donna Maria's Tamales" on Cheyenne and Tenaya; large dinning area and good Mexican food! No play room for kids, but affordable prices and also has a bar for the adults.
