They’re not borrowing against your labor, they are taxing your labor. This has been settled by the US Supreme Court in the Flemming Vs Nestor ruling of 1960. There exists no contractual obligation between you and the government for them to pay social security benefits. Congress has the authority to tax and that’s what social security is, a tax. There was never a lock box or a set up fund that was raided. It is a Government ponzi/pyramid scheme designed for most people to have died before the benefits could kick in. Increasing longevity has created more issues than any other factor by far.

As for being a US Citizen, count me as a proud citizen of the last bastion of freedom. There’s a lot to be unhappy about, but when you consider the alternatives we are the best. We are being destroyed from within by an intolerant collectivism and the destruction of individualism.

The question is poorly defined. If you mean what is the advantage of citizenship over legal residency (green card), that is one question. If you mean what is the advantage of being a citizen over being an illegal alien, that is another question.

I’m not convinced you are really asking a question though. My sense is that you are griping about how the Dims and the globalists are trying to ignore the rule of law to push their agenda. I must admit to sharing your frustration.

Someone asked me once if I knew the difference between a civilian and a citizen. I know now. A citizen has the courage to make the safety of the human race their personal responsibility.  ----- Johnny Rico

Technically, none, aside from not being able to be deported/the right to vote/sit on a jury.

Some states will not issue a CCW permit to a non-citizen

Frankly, and rightfully, most of our cherished rights are viewed as "fundamental to the human condition," so every person gets them.

Citizenship is not an entitlement, rather it is your service to provide whatever value you have to the common good. At best, to leave this place in a better condition than what you entered.

See, that's the wrong attitude to have.

We are not SUPPOSED to be chattel. The government is supposed to earn our loyalty, and work, every bit as much as we are supposed to contribute.

Once it no longer does that, people stop wanting to be a part of it, voluntarily, and we end up in the situation we are in now/head toward being Venezuela.

Half of my people were present in this land when the other half showed up and eventually fought to make it theirs.

And those who came after, fought to keep it.

I earned my own place, and am not going anywhere. In the end, one way or another, I will die for the last bit and will keep 2 and a 1/2 by 8 feet wide and 6 feet deep, of it.

So, get off my lawn.

Democrats are working very hard to give our rights as citizens away to people that have no right to them . Why would they do that? To stay in power. They are trying to "buy" new voters. Why? Because any American with a brain won't vote for them.

I have to disagree on the rights issue.... all people should have the same rights... now as to whether we should become a socialist state and give benefits to everyone, regardless of citizen ship.... that is another debate.

personally I've never received any of the 'benefits' that many folks here complain that illegals are stealing. and to be honest, I've never wanted any of them... well until just about two months ago.... but I will get by with out them still.

But you pay for all of them. I think this scam should be paid for by those who see no problem with it.

We are giving our country away to an invading army. Ask France how well it has worked out for them. The amazing part is some here think that it will somehow, someway work out different for us.

Exactly this. It is additional proof that leftism is a true mental disorder. The evidence of the failure of socialism is there for all to see globally, and historically. And yet there are a large number of people in this country that are either blind to the reality or are so ignorant and deeply in denial that they think “that can’t happen here”. Truly astounding.

I didn’t create the SS system. As a matter of fact, I wasn’t even born when it was created but it’s what we have right now and it’s not going anywhere and no one on the forum is going to change it.

My semi-sarcastic statement still holds true. Everyone makes fun of SS until it’s time to collect.

I've been thinking about this question on and off. For me the answer is relative. Travel almost anywhere else in the world and see how they live. See which liberties they have. See which liberties they don't have. To some degree it is a shame that we are moving away from liberty and personal accountability, but we are not even close to the vulnerability of other nations. Most recently we watched the seemingly free New Zealand turn on liberty at the drop of a hat. That could never legitimately happen here. This is just one example of what citizenship provides. There are many, many others. So, our culture has warts but they are our warts and we can work within the system to combat them. We can thank all who have sacrificed their lives for the cause of liberty.

And yeah.

We do have an awesome birthright of freedom and opportunity paid for in blood. It is unlike anywhere else.
Unfortunately, it's slowly being squandered.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
