Fishing in San Diego Recommendations
I'm planning a trip with my brother and dad for this 70th bday. Thought we'd charter a guide for two days.

Any advice on where to look, what type of fishing (don't love trolling - like rod in hand, light tackle), etc?

I take it you are thinking of going out on a fishing boat.

SD is not renown for great fishing otherwise.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

What time of year; many species are seasonal in SD?
Willing to go offshore? Do you want to do an overnight on the boat? Do you want a private charter (expensive) or a party boat (less expensive)?

December. Private charter for 4 of us. Offshore? not too far I'd say. Depends on the fishing.

I have made an inquiry to my buddy who owns a marine service business on Shelter Island, and knows the fishing captains very well.

I’ll report back when I get his suggestions.

Not much happening in December except the half day boats. Check out Seaforth or Islandia for open party boats in the Mission Bay area.
Also Fishermans Landing which is right close
to the legendary Point Loma Seafood.

Legendary indeed!

My all time favorite place to eat, one of the few things I miss about San Diego.
