Outback needs to crush that employee and show her to the door to send a clear message.

This, in spades!

Is it reasonable to actually think that the safe space assholes will ever regain their thinking ability?

As to Outback Steakhouse, we went there years ago. Other than the "bloomin onion" the food was marginal at best, over priced and the service truly sucked.

And the wife does not care all that much for onions, so she didn't get much out of the evening at all. And we had to wait 45 minutes to get seats. Spent that 45 minutes sitting in the car with a beeper to tell us when to go inside.

Never again.

Only ever been to an Outback once. It was tolerable. I've certainly had better steak and been to better steak houses. From that one experience I put Outback on about the same level as Olive Garden. As such: This incident would not dissuade me from going back, because I was unlikely to go back in the first place.

I don't know whether Outback restaurants are company-owned or franchises, but whomever owns that establishment needs to have that manager in for a come to Jesus meeting. The officer may not blame the manager, but I do. Her handling of the matter was poor, no matter which way you look it.

Last couple times I was there, it was fifteen bucks for a six-ounce sirloin accompanied by an endless supply of grilled shrimp. Just ask for more when you want it.

I can't remember the last time I was in an Outback without a gun. Gun-free zone, my kosher ass!

Are shrimp kosher?

Im going to use this to get all the free steakz.

I saw a domestic shitshow go down at an outback last year.

A little kid knocked over a glass that fell on the floor and broke near the area his infant sibling was perched. His white trash grandfather literally threw him on the floor and grabbed the baby like it just had been near a grenade.

No managers, nothing. No one in the restaurant even looked up from their dinner. Like a bunch of cows.

We called the police.

It’s almost certain.

In a place like that, they have every incentive to deal with and resolve any complaint. Customer complains and the easy solution pops into mind, interfering with common sense minimized by inexperience. In many places, the problem takes his gun out to the truck, problem solved, customer happy.

In this case, it didn’t.

The steak house business is stratified into tiers, with the super hi quality Morton/Ruth’s Chris et al in the high end, the Sizzler/Bonanza types at the low end. Black Angus/Outback are in a middle grade price and quality wise.

Outbacks are company and franchise stores. One common situation is a restaurant is owned by a limited partnership between Outback, the restaurant manager and perhaps outside investors. The several in the San Diego area do real well, last I knew some years ago.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I like Outback. Are they the best? No but they're not the worst either. In my experience places that are better are more expensive. I go there on Wednesdays for the lunch special.

I'm not boycotting them because one manager in Tennessee got it wrong. You all go ahead and be outraged though.

Only when they are wrapped in bacon and grilled.

See, when you combine two things that aren't Kosher, they become Kosher. This is simple math, guys.

I just interviewed an Outback manager for a job opening. Managers are nothing, $40k a year and 70 hour work weeks. Proprietor/Partners run each location. If managers do well they can be asked to buy into the location.
I was recently in an Outback in Hilton Head, after just sitting down a cockroach the size of a small cat started running across the wall. The server quickly knocked it down and carried it off. Many tables left, some who had not been served yet. They told me if we stayed everything was on the house. Free food, beer, and dessert, I quickly forgot what I saw.

Back in the good ol' days, she would have received a nice "Escort Jacket", with "built in hug" feature, and some nice men in white to help her to the nice "Escort Vehicle".

It is kinda surprising this did take place here in Cleveland, this area as a whole is gun friendly (the local mall has a "rules" sign at each entrance just asking CCW holders to keep weapons concealed)...that Outback is less than a mile from my house and even though I don't eat there often, I've never seen any signs to indicate it being "gun-free" restaurant. I've always carried there (concealed) and will do so in the future if I eat there...I do know that it is common to see the Cleveland City Police, Bradley County Sheriff and TN State Patrol cars in the parking lot from time to time during lunch time...

Sounds like the "triggered" patron wanted some drama and attention with a free meal thrown in and the idiot manager overreacted making all things possible including the resulting apology.

Had I been the manager I would have offered to box up her meal and escort her to her car. If she required being comped to avoid escalation, I would do so with the condition she does not return. Then I'd post her pic at reception so she can identified and denied in the future.
