Very sorry to hear that Luke crossed the bridge yesterday. He'll be waiting for you on the other side. Remember to bring treats when you go.

Sorry for your loss.

IME, having a vet euthanize before things get ugly is the right decision, but at the same time comforting them as the vet administered the shots was among the hardest things I've ever done.

My condolences, as some one else said, those pics tell a lot. A great and loyal friend I'm certain. It hurts. My prayers are with you.

I don't know many people who have not been torn to pieces when they lose a dog, and it usually hurts the whole family involved.

I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. -Ecclesiastes 9:11

You made the right decision, if you every catch yourself wondering if you made the right decision. You need to base it on the quality of life for your dog, versus the denial of the owner having to go through it, or prolonging the process.

You will be reunited again...

So sorry for your loss. I'm sure he's enjoying his new pain free life, and romping around with my best buddy Hank and the other pets I've lost over the years. Prayers for you.

I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like what I went through just last week with my dog, Roscoe. I offer my deepest condolences, just know that there’s no more pain and you did the right thing. It doesn’t help the hurt your feeling right now, trust me I know this all too well, but it was the right thing to do.

Sorry to hear that but you did the right thing.
We had the same heartbreaking experience two weeks ago although the dog was much older. Still not easy.
We had another dog several years ago with what sounds like the same cancer, very common in dogs. They don’t last long with it so not much you could have done anyway.

Thanks guys, it's been a few tough days in the UA5 house.
Little things, 9 years of letting the pup out before we head to bed, have auto-piloted to the back door to find him not there beside me.
He would hang out at the top of the stairs outside our girls' rooms when they went to bed at night, still odd not seeing him there.
