I saw a vid with Mark Farner(Grand Funk Railroad)
talking about shooting during breaks while recording an album. He liked the .44 magnum pistol.
He also said that he got Frank Zappa(anti gunner at first) into shooting.

Kirk Russel is another hunter.

3 dog Night Singer Cory Wells(RIP) was an avid outdoors man and hunter.

Way back in the 60’s, ABC used to have an outdoors show-primarily hunting and fishing. There were others, but I remember big band personality, Phil Harris and crooner Bing Crosby upland bird hunting.

I once saw some outdoors show years ago that had Redd Foxx doing some bird hunting.

IIRC, Sammy Davis Jr and Jerry Lewis were a little more “into” cowboy action fast draw... they were supposed to be super fast!

Hollywood Director John Milus was an avid shooter and gun owner. Clint Eastwood, Steve McQueen, Earnest Borginine a few more avid shooters and gun owners. Johnny Depp, James Earl Jones and (not like he needs one...) Chuck Norris are all avid gun owners and 2nd Amendment supporters.

Chef Alton Brown has been spotted at a range or two. Tom Selleck as well.

In the “Duh!” category is Charleston Heston and Ted Nugent.

That was "American Sportsman". Curt Gowdy was most often the host. Loved that show as a kid; if we could get the signal.

kinda gotta wonder what ranges you guys are going too.

I goggled a half dozen of those mentioned and found very little or nothing mentioned about them and gun ownership.

I ran across a web site a couple of hours ago but did not mark it so I will have to go back. It mentioned several people already mentioned on this thread along with several rappers, Whoopie Goldberg,(that one I knew about), and surprisingly Madonna!

Surprised nobody mentioned John Wayne.

John

The key to enforcement is to punish the violator, not an inanimate object. The punishment of inanimate objects for the commission of a crime or carelessness is an affront to stupidity.

I read somewhere that John Wayne bought an island in Washington State, somewhere in the San Juan’s, I believe. He stocked it with exotic species and invited guests for shoots.

Karl Malone of NBA fame is a gun owner and is/was an NRA board member. I know a shop owner who sold James Earl Jones a bunch of stuff. Jones has as estate in lower NY state and frequented numerous gun shops in my area. I never met him, but the shop owners told me he's just a regular guy.

Paul Stanley from the band "KiSS" is an avid shotgunner. check his facebook page and you'll see he is absolutely beaming with pride about his new Beretta DT11. think he enjoys shooting trap with his son.

Never been a fan of kiss, but I thought that was cool that he gets out and spends time with his kids doing something they both enjoy.

I recall a few years ago when Ted Turner was married to Jane Fonda that they had taken handgun training. There was an unconfirmed story that for whatever reason something about their gun ownership was brought up and Hanoi Jane said that the laws in question: " Were not for them, they were for other people." Like I said UNCONFIRMED but it sure sounds like something an elitist socialist would come out with.

Wasn't Sean Penn supposed to have a big gun collection that he promised to melt down because his girlfriend hates guns?
