Congrats!

I have a fellow Officer at my department that used to be NYPD. Lots of stories! Lots of tradition (both good and bad Wink)

Best of luck!

Thank you for the love guys Smile

yes i get sworn in on july 8th and the academy starts the following day or day after i think.

Also i have this hard hard hard decision to make...

Glock 19 or Sig 226 Dao!

i never shot the 226 DAO but i heard the trigger isnt something to boast about. The G19 i hear nothing but good things about but i almost feel like cheating when i even think of going for the glock instead of the sig.

Also, one thing i was leaning towards the G19 is because i am going to use the G26 as my off duty/bug pistol, and seeing as that both the G19 and the G26 mags fit each other.
Even with that though...i still kind of want the 226 still.. HELP me decide guys!

I'd suggest it's an easy choice. Same manual of arms, similar grips & trigger pull. Go G19!

I'll second the request to keep us updated as your class progresses.

Bad news guys...Mayor Bloomberg "Postponed the academy indefinitely"
Got the call today from the applicant processing division bearing the bad news=(
It had something to do with the senators not being able to make a decision about the city pension plans i think. All in all a bad day for me=(

They'll be up'n running in no time. Meanwhile, do PT and make flash cards on statutes, ordinance and judicial decisions. Break in your shoes, saddle soap'm and then Lincoln dye & stain wax until the leather's pores fill up.

I was about to post this. I heard it on the news this AM.

The NYS gov't has got to be the most screwed up in the country (which is saying something).

Hopefully I'll see you walking a beat soon.

You think so?? I have friends who work at a SUNY school and the state was buying printed forms for the schools from an out of state printing company. No NY based printer could win the contract because of the costs of doing business there.

I think California and NY are in a race to claim "the most screwed up state". Personally, I want to throw all the bums out.

Just an update of my progress.
I am now on 3.5 months in the academy. 2.5 more to go!
Things are going well we just Finished Drivers Training this week over in brooklyn. It was a great stress reliever from being in the academy all the time. Got to drive the RMP around a bit. Its amazing how far back people tend to get when they see the boys in blue driving around Smile
All in all its going great. The PT is good(lost 14 lbs)
oh, and the best part!
we get to do Firearms training in Nov for 3 weeks! Big Grin

Good to hear it. Academy was some of the best times in my life. Especially the firearms training. Bring home the "Top Gun" trophy. Myself, a former Top Gun winner, and the rest of SIGforum are counting on you. Wink
