Oh there were many many paragraphs typed.

As much as I wanted to vent, it's best not to air this stuff in public. Typing it was therapudic enough. I can assure you it was an excellent rant and crappy story. Family can be so frustrating.

Sap, thanks for the kind words.

Treat yourself to some ribeye cap, I did Saturday. Big Grin

I went to Costco, looked where they had the ribeyes and didn't see any. Asked the butcher, he pointed me to a separate cooler across the aisle.

Pretty pricey at $49 for 3 caps, I forget the weight. But the one I had was tender and tasty. mmm... Thanks for the schooling.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." then there is this guy.

a 30 y.o male comes in to the e.r. complaining of dizziness, confusion, anxiety and semi blacking out.
smokes a pack a day and is 5ft 6 in, 180 lbs.

the screening nurse asks him a dozen questions ,
turns out that yesterday was the 1 year anniversary of his wife of 7 years leaving him,

his mom died two weeks ago, they think it was a stroke, so he has to move in with his dad to care for him ,

has no children, and he got laid off yesterday as well, from his job of 11 years.

he will be loosing his medical benefits in 30days .

his entire world is on an upside down merry go round going back wards and all the prize rings have been taken, ( from his perspective anyway)

I stepped out prior to going in to depression

If you haven't already seen it Home for the Holidays (1995) will give you some good chuckles on this subject.

Sorry for your bad time Skins.
I don't get why some folks crack at this time of year, or any holiday. Just have to make others miserable I guess.

Best to ya!

I can take some small solace in the fact that I'm not alone. Someone else is probably going to be a post or two in here on Dec. 26.

The worst part, it was over politics and some of the most childish shit ever.

I got stuck with microwaved brisket and potato pancakes, because I had to go find someone walking down the street and drive them home. Then got the pleasure of driving their car right back to their house because my grandpa didn't want it in his driveway. With out naming names, that family member is very lucky he or she gave birth to me.

Christmas dinner looks like it's just going to be me and a beautiful woman, no family is going to mess that up.

I get along fine with my "inlaws". fact is I get along better with my "Outlaws". we both understand we are not blood relations to these people, and like water on a ducks back......

I learned many years ago, they do something stupid, it does not affect me. no complaints.

And, I learned that the ones that really pissed me off, I could stay away from, I do not miss them at all.

So, after all it is all about you, treat yourself kindly, and avoid stressful situations best you can. if you cannot avoid, ignore!

I just realized I'm sitting here having an anxiety attack because of a relative arriving for Christmas.
My wife and I love this person, but he or she carries a lot of baggage (figuratively).
I pray for calm, serenity, and for the Holy Spirit to speak through me.

Had a get together today with most of the folks I had over for Thanksgiving.

Not one word about politics.

Either it was because of my extremely affable and melodious (almost angelical) tone of voice during Thanksgiving or because of the new tax reform and jobs act.

I get along great with my in-laws but they have something against air conditioning. Nothing like sweating for the holidays while sitting in the living room.
