At Rotterdam, London, Warsaw and half a hundred other places, they put their rather naive theory into operation. They sowed the wind, and now they are going to reap the whirlwind."

Ah, acronyms...the military runs on them.

Two of my favorites:

DICNAVAB - Dictionary of Naval Abbreviations. I'm told this actually exists, tho I have my doubts.

PBMFWW - Failure code. "Prick's Broke - Mother Fucker Won't Work. I was chastised for using that in an official Navy Maintenance Log.

And from my brief stint on the fringes of IT: PEBCAK - Problem Exists Between Chair And Keyboard.

Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

Ha I didn't expect to see this here. 20 years of my career has been with HACCP. Now to finish my last 8-10 years will be LE Compliance.

US Air Force “Tongue & Quill” handbook (AFH 33-337) specified that you NEVER use an acronym without first spelling it out completely and then put the acronym in parenthesis following it. Roll Eyes
