So redesigning the jerseys and rebranding our club's competitive team. You think it would be easy to come up with a new jersey design and a new team name. Nope. Real suggestions with real comments below.

Straight Shooters - "Our team needs to be all inclusive and this is insensitive."

Apaches - "That could be offensive to native americans."
"Um, no, pretty sure the suggestion came from an archer who is an actual Apache and she was cool with it."
"Well, it could be offensive to the Navajos."
"The Apache and Navajo have not gotten along for a few centuries, pretty sure our archery team's name won't have an effect on that long standing feud."

Gunslingers - "We're an archery team, why do we have to bring guns into it?"

Outlaws - "That just promotes an image of bad behavior."

Spearchuckers - "No."

Sun Devils - "ASU already has a team, besides we shouldn't name anything after that trade school in Tempe."

So yeah, I'm pretty sure we'll end up with a boring name like, Tournament Team or Competition Team just because we can't come up with something that someone doesn't get their panties in a bunch about. One reason I've always been thankful that my daughter has been involved in archery is that it's one of the few sports where political correctness has not crept in. Now, I really want to come up with the most offensive name and jersey design that I can...

Wow -- Sorry!

With spirit of intent for your name and jersey design I nominate:
HELLFIRE...Obvious linkage between Apache Helicopter and anti-tank missile.

As a navy guy and in light of recent news: Flaming Tomahawks instead of Sun Devils or Spearchuckers.

This could be fun -- Good Luck coach!

Okay, so those names are all potentially offensive, or "problematic", what does xir suggest? Did that aching pussy have any offerings?

A friend of mine, Ginger Boatwright (you bluegrass fans might recognize the name) fronted an all female bluegrass group many years ago.

She named it "The Bushwhackers."

I ignore people who use the word "insensitive". I just mark them as a lost cause and don't bother with them.

Bah humbug. Maybe a name including the word “Green” would give a woody to those people.

You need something banal, & innocuous to satisfy the weak-minded, yet clever enough to mean something to the rest of you.

I laughed at “spearchuckers” so yes, that would be offensive.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

You encourage shooters to your competitive team who cannot hit the target?

A good team needs a good slogan. How about:

"We'll stick it in you"

I hope that's not insensitive Wink
