I have no need for Brink's "service." My home is insured by Sig, S&W, Ruger, and H&K.

I have a sign out....but no service...plus a 120lb bullmastiff alarm and defender...then my weapons on top of that.

No, Ryan, Brinks (now Broadview) will not agree to call the cops first. Their reason is that most alarms are false.

Here, we have to have a license for the alarm (free) but we pay the LEOs for the second and subsequent false alarms they are sent to.

My reason for an alarm system is to add at least a little protection when I am not home. Perhaps not much, but, IMO, better than no protection.

Seriously though, we have a really low theft/crime rate here in central Mo. I think we have close to 6:1, guns:home ratio here.

Years back, when I first started shooting a lot, at a local range, I thought I would be the "big dog" with no less than three .45s on my bench. As more and more shooters arrived, I realized I was the only person there that didn't have an AR! Young gals, grandpa, moms, everyone! It was actually nice to see, now that I think about it. You don't f**k around in Callaway County.

Has anyone ever noticed that whenever there is a commercial about crime and criminals the bad guy is NEVER a minority? This string of commercials is the same. I would not want them as my monitoring service just based upon these misleading commercials
