...I can't stand them.

Oh, some whacked out dude is breaking into Minds home! Hear the loud alarm, go off! See the operator who is in India assure Mindy that the minimum wage rent-a-cop will arrive 20 minutes later to pick her dead body off of the floor...

Brinks Commercial

Get tough lady! Buy a gun, get some training, protect your kids, and wait until the real cops arrive!

I always thought this is the best home security system's commercial:

I remember when they finally caught one of the most successful thieves in down in Charlotte (IIRC he made his living this way for decades without being caught) part of what he did to get a mitigated sentence was agree to teach people how to stop people like him. One of the things he mentioned is that he targeted homes with Brinks and ADT signs because he knew they had something worth stealing.

I agree the commercial is terrible... but I do think a security system should be part of everyone's home protection. I view mine as a every warning device. I will be armed and ready to protect my family, instead of counting on a loud noise to scare away any criminals.

A 230 grain JHP in the upper torso would certainly tend to discourage the scum.

As much as it soumds like a bad joke, I honestly knew soneone, in the '80's who had their home security system stolen.

I don't need a security system.I'm going to move to an all black neighborhood. According to the commercials, only white men break in. If I could find a black female neighborhood I'd even be safer.

I prefer the "Trunk Monkey" security system.

But yea, I agree the commercials are NOT reality. Sometimes the BG runs away, sometimes he/she doesn't.

That is racial profiling and the white race baiters will be along soon to tell you why it's wrong.

I'm okay with the commercial until about half-way. If only it ended with a blast of 00 buckshot from an 870. Then it could fade to black with the manufacturers logo:

Remington...there when you need it.

Now that would be a commercial worth watching.

I know...never happen, but I would love to see a gal standing up for herself instead of running for "help" on the phone.

FWIW, my wife's dog is the best early warning system I've ever seen. Not that many bgs would be scared of a Chinese Crested, but that little bastard barks at everyone in or out of the door. Very protective...for a titty dog.

Anyone hear/remember the 911 call the woman made as the attacker kicked in her bedroom door and proceeded in, all the while the operator listened and could do nothing? No offense to any operators/dispatchers...

When my wife first saw one of the ads her comment to me was.
(tongue firmly in cheek)
"Dear, does that alarm company automatically notify the Coroner's office?"

I can't believe they call the house first. I'd prefer that they call the PD first. Can you specify that if you get their alarm system?

the two things that always get me on those type of commercials is:

1. Does everyone really set their alarm 24 hours a day while they are home exercising, cleaning house, etc? To where a break in of this type would activate the alarm...

2. When she says, "I think someone tried to break in my home." Lady....they already broke in they just did not enter!!!!!

If the guy was already breaking down door...and in the home then not likely cops would get there before harm was done. Be prepared...

Oh you bet Roll Eyes I've got nothing better to do than dink with the alarm all day especially when the dog wants in or out. Hey, wait a minute, if I have a dog......

That "alarm set while we are at home in the daytime" crap would have the life span of a fart in a furnace.

It could be worse. So far, all the victims are white. Razz
