I'd dearly love to find the person responsible for this set up. What should've taken 3 minutes to change a bulb turned into a rage fueled 30 minutes of loud profanity. Driver side you can remove the battery and have plenty of space to work. Passenger side is about 1.5" from the windshield washer fluid reservoir and requires hands the size of a 5 year old to access. Also found out the only way to change the entire light housing is to remove the grill. Mad

That is NOTHING, try changing a heater core on a foxbody mustang.
Worst engineering idea ever!

I feel your pain...to replace the fog lights on my '05 Jeep Liberty you have to remove the grill (which is like fighting a 3-armed monkey) and then, like with your situation, you need gnome hands to access the freaking bulb socket...

Be thankful it isn't a Tundra and you need a steering rack. 17 hours of labor because you have to remove the engine. (I kid you not.) Usually a Toyota fan, between that and the huge skid plate with eight bolts that you have to remove to change the cartridge oil filter, I have developed an intense dislike of this truck.

On a 2007 Volkswagen New Beetle, to change the oil you have to remove a splash pan. There are:
6x T25 screws
2x 8mm triple square bolts
2x 16mm bolts
holding it on. No wonder somebody took a Sawzall to that Audi S4 belly pan a while back.

Hopefully the no drill WeatherTech mud flaps my wife got me for my birthday won't result in a similar experience. Anyone using them?

Sweet Jesus, I would either bypass or burn the car in a field before I went through all that!

Had to change the bulbs in my 06 Passat recently, you have to remove both front wheels, inner wheel well liner, entire front bumper and some other small bits and bobs. And if the bulbs weren't expensive enough on their own, you should replace the ballast as well because Lord knows how long they'll last with new bulbs. Just glad one of my best mates used to be a head mechanic for local vw dealer so all I have to pay is parts while I do the labor under his supervision.

I have over half of that out for another project so a new heater core will certainly be added during this.

Anyone remember the original Taurus SHO? It had an inline 6 cylinder engine that , as I recall, had some input from Lotus. You could change the first 5 spark plugs with little difficulty. To replace the 6th plug, you had to remove the engine.

The SHO utilized a Yamaha motor that sure was a Medusa looking intake manifolds.
