Doing anything important when half asleep
As soon as I woke up I saw a fraud alert from my bank on my phone, in regard to a transaction from Sams Club in Arizona. Being half asleep, I immediately contacted my bank and told them that I did not authorize the transaction, at which point my debit card was shut down.
After becoming fully awake, I checked my Sams Club member account and saw it was them attempting to automatically renew my membership a week early!!
Now, I have to wait 5 to 7 days for a new debit card. That will teach me!

Because son, it is what you are supposed to do.

I would have asked them to overnight the card. I’ve had it done a couple of times and it was just me not knowing where the card was in my house.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
