I’ve been dodging those jerks daily. I basically punched one in the head at low speed with the passenger side corner of the bumper last year.

I was about twenty years old driving a built 77 CJ-5 with 3 girls in it. In my mind I was the ultimate pimp.

A doe ran across the road 50 or so yards in front of me, I kept motoring. Two seconds later and here come the fawns. I nailed one with the passenger side of the front rock bumper. It's head exploded and its corpse went under the tires. All females screamed Jamie Lee Curtis style and begged me to go "help it". I dragged it into the bushes, that's all the help it could be afforded.

I did NOT get laid that night.

Yeah the one other time I hit a deer with my grill guard and suffered no damage, my wife was with me. She screamed like crazy and demanded I go back to check on it. I went back and the deer was obliterated and I had zero damage to my truck. I was happy and she cried like crazy for probably 30 minutes because the deer was dead and what she saw when she saw the deer. Telling her, “Well you are the one who wanted to go back to see it” did not help me that night.

I made it through twelve years in northern NY state.. never hit one.

Moved to Savannah Georgia. Shortly thereafter, a doe head butts by pickup on the left side below the gas door.. in a sub division. Pushed in the panel a tad, but other wise, no damage.

Crazy deer..

My brother sent me a picture years ago while he was doing patrol duty for the Idaho State Police. Showed a MOOSE in the back seat of a passenger car.

Had come through the windshield, killed 2 people in the front seats.

While on duty in Germany I clipped one of those Reh deer one morning. Just got its head on the left front bumper/fender of my car.

Instant kill on the deer, about $300 bucks in damage to the car. And back then that much money paid for considerable damage.

Same thing happened to my SUV back in November but it was a big buck that came out of nowhere. Took out the left side of the vehicle. Did $32,000 worth of damage and NOT TOTALED! Three months later and everything seems to be working. Thank goodness for comprehensive.

I got lucky and it isn’t considered totaled. It came pretty close in the amount of damage, but the value still outweighs the damage. Got a call today that the insurance company has approved the estimate for the repairs, they have received all the parts, and will start the repairs very soon.

Yeah it would have sucked if an elephant had jumped into the side of my truck. If so, I don’t think I would be here right now and the elephant would have continued on his merry way.

Glad you're okay Normin. Those things can do more damage than you would guess.

Will have to find the pictures. One night on patrol with the Sherrif Dept got a call for deer versus van. Deer came through the windshield over the tops of the front seats and the windshield and the deer landed in the floorboard behind the front seats. Injured the driver and passengers. The deer was still alive and the Collierville cop had to put it down.

Several years back, my uncle had a nice buck stick his antlers in the driver side door sheet metal on a little Ford Escort.
My uncle was a tight man, so he drove with those holes in the door for the rest of the time he owned it. He said it didn't hurt the way it drove.

Here's to the sunny slopes of long ago.

does anyone remember the member from alaska that had a friend in a lifted mini pickup?

the ass hat was beeping at a moose, from the safety of his toyota p/u,

then the moose flew down from the grassy knoll and knocked the p/u on its side.

how pissed off would an elephant have to be?

I've hit two on a motorcycle. The last one should have killed me, and why I gave up riding.

They are everywhere around here. On my daily drive, I see them everywhere. It's a 35mph zone, and I usually drive well under that.

My son and I were in rural WV, driving a back country road, 45mph. Some idiot passes us on a double line, and right about the time I tell my kid, "Look at this dumbas...", a deer jumped in front of him. That deer exploded, and the ubiquitous pink mist sprayed our car. The moron kept driving a few miles, and pulled over. I stopped to see if he was ok. His jeep was toast.

I apologize now...
