I needed to take the bush hog off the Cabota and mount the finish mower.

Got the 'hog positioned and blocked up where I wanted to store it, top link comes off okay, right pin comes out of the lift arm, left pin doesn't want to play.

So, while standing beside the 'hog, I give the pin a little love-tap with the hammer I keep in the Cabota for just such occasions.

Care to guess what happened next?

Anyone?

Bueller?

I did. The tractor was at a slight angle putting a bit of pressure on the connection.

Not, unfortunately, as much as I thought tho...

The hammer is now stuck where the pin was formerly located.

Or, the pin is now on its way to join the Comet NEOWISE.

Close. Fortunately, my shin deflected it's trajectory and it wasn't able to attain escape velocity.

And since it's been hotternell for a week now, I was wearing shorts...

That hurts just thinking about it. Would the pain be more, less, or equal to going around one's truck and banging one's shin into the trailer hitch? I'm all too familiar with that pain.

BTDT, About the same. Advantages are A)Nobody saw it, and B)Nobody near by so Verbal Analgesics can be applied liberally.

I had it happen with a blade implement on my former Ford 8N. From then on I blocked everything and stood off to the side.

Some good advice I wish I had been told sooner: Never disconnect anything under tension.

I use a Quick Hitch. Best thing I ever bought for the 3 point.

ETA, I do have a hydraulic top link, and that helps a lot in hooking up with, or without, the Quick Hitch.

THAT’S why you should have gone for a motorcycle ride instead!

Bike rides beat out yard work, every time.

can you just request penance ,these days ?

or do you still have to go in and get communion and go to confession?

( just assuming , I know I would have been talking to it )

Hope it did not hurt too bad.
At least you have your tractor.
I sold my old one and have been gonna buy another all summer.
Finally told the dealer I would take one a month ago and they cannot get the tires in I want on it.
They did the get the front tires in on Thursday. No idea about the back ones.
