With apologies to Willie... but rumor is he stole this song from a cat.

Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble
When you're perfect in every way
I can't wait to look in the mirror
'Cause I get better lookin' each day
To know me is to love me
I must be a hell of a feline
Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble
But that's the best I can rhyme

I used to have me a girlfriend
But I guess that she couldn't compete
With all of them love-starved Karens
Who keep falling around at my feet
Well I probably could find me another
But I guess they're all in awe of me (Oh man)
Who cares? I'll never get lonesome
'Cause I treasure my own company

Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble
When you're perfect in every way
I can't wait to look in the mirror
'Cause I get better lookin' each day
To know me is to love me
I must be one hell of a feline
Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble
But that's the best I can rhyme

I guess you could say I'm a loner (Yeah)
A cowboy outlaw, tough and proud
I could have a lot of friends if I wanted
But then I wouldn't stand out from the crowd
Some folks say that I'm egotistical
Hell, I don't even know what that means
I guess it has something to do with the way
That my hooman fills out their skin-tight blue jeans

Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble
When you're perfect in every way
I can't wait to look in the mirror
But I get better lookin' each day
To know me is to love me
I must be one hell of a feline
Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble
But I'm doin' the best that I can
Lord, it's hard to be humble
That's the end of this here rhyme

Our rescue cat:

She is on the heat register because she doesn't like to be cold (the heat is on). The dumbbell is tied down to the vent cover as she had picked it up before and explored the HVAC ductwork.

She's a Bengal and a handful. Smile

Is that an Ocicat or a Bengal? I can't tell them apart. They are beautiful cats.

Looks like a Bengal to me- I have one, and she’s a pretty good kitty, despite what you might read about them trashing places.

ETA: just saw 229DAK’s post. Yes, mine is darker than that, but a touch lighter than the kitty in the sink. A hallmark of the Bengal is the bottom of their feet, iirc. All black.

We went to get my wife an ocicat kitten years ago. They had a silver Bengal teenager that wouldn't leave her alone. We took him home with us since he chose her.

She is a bengal. From what I hear she has quite the personality and is incredibly vocal. I often hear her meow at my brother when I’m talking to him on the phone.

Yes, another hallmark. They talk back. Quite a bit. I was going through customs last fall, and I heard a cat in a carrier talking, not yowling, but “asking”? I took a peek, and confirmed with the owner, sure enough, another Bengal. “Chat” would be a great pet name for one of these guys.

This was Agnes, she was my favorite land mammal, she was the best chibby around. She loved her monkeys, and hated all the other cats. The house is a bit empty feeling today.

So sorry for your loss, ASG. My family and I just got back into town yesterday evening, and I noticed our cat was "off". Tonight I'm trying to nurse her through til morning. Her kidneys failed a couple years back and we've been babying her along, but I don't know if I'm going to be able to pull this one out. Nine lives not all used, I hope. RIP, Agnes.
