So my mom gets me a Maxpedition Jumbo, as a gift. But she buys me the digital camo version, and I really wanted the black version.
No biggie, Maxpedition says ship it back, they'll exchange it. I have to pay for shipping both ways, of course, no biggie. So I ship it priority mail last week. They get it on Wednesday. I call Monday of this week to make sure they're going to exchange it. Yep, they got it. It'll be processed today, no problem. I get an email with a tracking number today that says it was sent International Priority Mail and left he United states yesterday. WTF? So I call them. Oops, sorry we pasted the wrong tracking number into your email. We haven't processed your exchange yet. Um, today is Thursday and you told me Monday it was already processed. Yea, sorry. We'll ship it today. Um, I needed that for THIS weekend, which is why I called Monday to confirm you would get it here. Yea, sorry. Won't be there. (tough shit). I don't mind paying for shipping THREE times for this one bag (>$45), but the incompetence and outright lying is bullshit. I got the same kind of deal trying to buy a replacement part for my Jenn Air grill. They billed me for the part plus shipping, told me it would be there in a week. Called after 10 days, oh, it's backordered, be here in 2 weeks. In 2 weeks, oh, it's on backorder still, last of next month. Say again? Didn't hesitate to take my money. Joy.

The only mistake they did to me was ship 3 of the item I ordered only one of. Without charging me.

Update. They called late today to confirm my order and volunteered to wave the shipping charge.
Don't know why they changed their minds. Maybe because I emailed them my post and pointed out Sigforum has 50K members, many of whom are military and LEO that like Maxpedition products? Still won't get it for the weekend, but at least they made a nice gesture. _________________________ You do NOT have the right to never be offended. |

Maybe because they are essentially a standup company that does such a high volume of business due to the innovative design and quality of their product that statistically they are going to inevitablly fuck up once in awhile? I have no idea of how many orders I've placed with them - all have been handled without any glitches whatsoever. |

My problem wasn't so much with the glitch. It was with the "so what?" attitude of the customer service and being outright lied to. Don't tell me you "have it right here and will ship it today" and then blow it off for four more days, and then not give a shit when I call to find out why the tracking number you gave me says it's being shipped internationally and just left the US. _________________________ You do NOT have the right to never be offended. |

Man, I hear you on that. I am having a very similar experience with Hogue grips b/c they sent me the wrong grips and they will think about refunding the return postage and NO APOLOGY by hogue. Now I won't have the grips but I have a big gripe. This is making me really grumpy. I think I will have to point out that I am posting on SigForum also. In this economy, only the companies that fight for business will have a good chance to survive.

Not trying to needle you just making observations and asking questions.

If you called before shipping it back and they said they would exchange it what compelled you to call them after shipping it back to make sure? Then you say: "Um, I needed that for THIS weekend, which is why I called Monday to confirm you would get it here." You said you called to make sure they would do the exchange not to make sure you would have it by Monday. "Yea, sorry. Won't be there. (tough shit)." What would you have them say? If they can't meet you're expectation then really all you have left is I'm sorry which they did AND they payed for the shipping. I don't think they lied to you. It sounds like they had your order confused with someone elses and where giving accurate though wrong information. Mistakes happen and it sounds like they corrected it as soon as they were aware and didn't charge you for the shipping to compensate for it. I'm curious what would you like them to do? |

Either you didn't read it, or I didn't explain it well enough. I called to make sure they got it, and that they were shipping it so that it would be here on time. Since they told me the got it and it would ship that same Monday, and sinced I was paying for shipping, USPS Priority Mail would have been here in plenty of time. If they hadn't got it, or hadn't processed it, I would have paid for UPS two day shipping (but didn't think I had to, since they said they would ship it Monday, right?). So when Thursday rolls around, and they send me the wrong tracking number, and I call and they now say they haven't processed it, I expected them to overnight it to me on their dime. They set the expectation that I would have it by Friday, not me. So what do I want? 1) don't tell me you'll ship it and then wait 4 days. 2) don't send me the wrong tracking number. 3) don't blow me off when I call to find out why you fucked up, admit it and take care of it. _________________________ You do NOT have the right to never be offended. |
