I think we just need to demand that your sig line be the link to the full size version of your current avatar.

Excellent, except I like reading most of the signatures, but may try it for a while. Thanks !!!

There are at least as many who don't give a fuck. I call people out whenever I see it, and I'd say it's probably 60/40 that they tell me they don't care or mind my own business or some other such bullshit vs them actually doing something about it (or even asking how to).

Not only is it fucking annoying, it's fucking ignorant. It's a waste of bandwidth, especially for those who have caps (rural wireless service, cell phone service, etc).

People like that should be stricken from the internet IMO.

The combo of pictures and names help me remember who's who. Otherwise I'd mix up the Ronins for sure.

I am just the opposite. I like the avatars because it easily (visually) identifies the poster, but signatures can be ridiculously long. It would be nice if there were a way to select one or the other to block, but the software is what it is, and this remains the best forum family around.

There are two threads about it. Look at them.

Oh, you'd be surprised. I've been called crass for posting pics of faces before.

If so, there's no requirement to have an avatar.

Some people don't know any better... or they're new... that's fine.

But we have this same thread a few times a year and there are a few people that still have their same huge avatar for a decade or so now. Mad

I've used animated gifs on only a few occasions. It's not really my thing. But if I was gonna use one like that, it'd be:

I remember the 60x60 requirement being specified when adding an avatar, so even new members should see it. Does it show up every time you change an avatar? I don't know since I've kept the same one from the start.

Yes the 60x60 warning does show up every time as I change mine for the major holidays.
