Not always... I was in a LGS the other day, and I was *very* interested in the hot, mature lady (mid- to late-40s) making a revolver purchase. |

So now I'm corn-fused... is this a fictional series, or some odd kind of reality TV thing? |

While I agree that this clerk was probabaly an idiot I am a little lost on what his weight had to do with it? I have a couple of "fat" friends that are the greatest people in the world and quite smart __________________________ Been in vans and in bands, on and through stages |

I'm sure some of them are wonderful people. Many are not. They tax the healthcare system, always seem to be next to me on the plane and other stuff. And now they are so sensitive "We don't like to be called fat." I didn't used to care for being bald. Didn't make it any less true.
As to why it came up at Bass Pro, I have trouble with these Pilsbury Commandos talking out of their ass. If they can't even take care of themselves, how can anyone trust them? I should mention that this guy was maybe 25, tops. |

As far as "Chucklehead's" credentials in a teaser for the show he stated he has "sold over a million dollars worth of firearms and has been in the business for a number of years"..I don't know anything about him and anyone can say what they want, but that is his alleged background. As far as the showing being negative propaganda I have to somewhat disagree in that the way it was initially shown was as being a peek into how great the right to arms is, how diverse the shooting public really is, and how positive the gun owning/shooting experience can be. Now that the show has aired I have to agree that the guy really appears to be engaging in retarded behaviour strictly for the sake of TV and as much as I appreciate a friendly gun stor clerk, his whole act is a bit much.....so in conclusion, is it anti-gun propaganda? hard to say at this stage...is it a sad shitfest of what could have been a neat show? I think so....just my .02.

I've been in the shop and shot at their basement range. The first thing that irritated me was that they were pissed because I brought my own targets and ammo. Like paying for the range time wasn't good enough. Secondly the range officer guy was asleep or deaf or something. Played hell getting him to activate the lane. No elbow room at all at the station either. I just hate those cave like indoor ranges.
Went back upstairs and was asked how it was. Told them it sucked and I wouldn't be back. Could not believe when I turned on the Lock and Load show and here was the Shootist. Don't know the guy or anything but I totally hate how it makes it look like all the locals are freaking idiots. I guess if they didn't pick the stupid customers there wouldn't be anything of interest at all. I hate reality shows in general and this one is the worst ever. ‘‘We, the People are the rightful masters of both Congress and the courts — not to overthrow the Constitution, but to overthrow men who pervert the Constitution.’’ — Abraham Lincoln |

I thought the first episode was amusing and the second a little less so. But the last was more than even I can stand. What an idiot!
"Yeah, this is a 9mm. If you shoot someone with it you'll hurt 'em." "This is a 45." Slaps a pair of slip on sneakers on the counter and says, "This is what you get when you shoot someone with a 45. Knocks 'em right outta their shoes."... or some such bull shit. I'm not debating the difference in energy between the two rounds, but that's just ridiculous. This bozo gives shooters a bad name! Billy B. A Sig or two and then some ;-) |

This was a huge disapointment to say the least. Someone ought to sue Showtime for false advertising, the original trailers for the show not only had incredibly better production values, they where well crafted and promised a great show where instead of having a "tool" (perfect word for the host) with a bunch of cheap cameras all over the place we where to meet all sorts of gun owners in depth.
I am not surprised that those original and quite misleading "trailers" for the show are nowhere to be found on the Showtime site! |
