Gotta love dash cams.
We were in our local fitness center today cooking in the hot tub. A girl was actually sitting in the tub texting like crazy on her iPhone.
Seems to be a predominately female obsession.

WGN is running a series on distracted driving. Here is the link. Where I live it is not illegal to talk on your cell phone while driving. In Illinois the ticket is 120 bucks, which would be an expensive lesson for me and probably a good income generator for the municipality.

No, she was a very apologetic young woman that admitted to using her phone as a GPS and just drove into me.
I told her I wasn't angry and let's just get the paperwork done and go home.
I won't know if she has insurance until I get the report and call whoever is listed.
The woman cop was too busy flirting with her.

I really miss that bumper-to-bumper crap (NOT), having moved from the DC beltway area. Now I just have to look out for left turners from the right lane (plenty of room to avoid), and otherwise distracted older drivers, some of whom you cannot see anything but their hands on the wheel. It is a different, but much more enjoyable, experience.

Something similar happened to me, but the state trooper was in a Suburban in front of me. I was pushed into his bumper.
I just started using a dashcam. While I haven't had a specific need for it yet, I feel much better having it recording when I'm on the road.

I am glad that you are okay and hopefully not too much damage was done to your vehicle.
I was on the way home from Quantico Thursday evening and a young lady had the passing lane held up for miles while she was on her phone.
I have never seen a person so involved in a phone that they had a lane almost stopped for miles (she was doing about 5). Anyone who has ever driven 95S coming out of Northern VA around rush hour knows how crazy the drivers/traffic can be.

Yes, they are causing gridlock from running all the way down to the gore and bullying their way over. The cops are overwhelmed with the paperwork from getting their fill of revenue writing for line breakers using the gore to force their way in.
One day I will get me a fender bought on camera when one of these assholes comes out of nowhere and pushes into me.
THAT is the day I will be rude to the driver and rightfully so.
