Don't know, bendable, but I can give you a couple of specific examples so you know what to look for:
1) If you (generic you, not bendable specifically) are on facebook, and post a link to a facebook resource, you will always see the information. I am not on facebook, so I may or may not see it, depending on if it's tagged as public or whatever.
2) If you have a subscription to a newspaper and post a link to an article in said paper, I probably won't see it as I don't have a subscription. Again, depends on how the article is tagged.
Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

Add one more:
If you have an image that has extra characters after the normal jpg, png, etc. extension, it will only show as this to everyone else.
An example: "format=jpg&name=small"

I can delete the frustration of the missing image, or maybe send it to someone who can do something to make it work.
What's the solution?

Well I tried.
As said in my followup email to you signewt: "There are easy ways to copy that image from your membership site and then post it to a Sigforum thread. Check out Greenshot as an example which uses imgur to handle images that can be posted and seen by all." There are many other options as well.

When I open it in Firefox it's fine. When I open it in Safari I get this screen and it locks up the browser.
I think this happened the other day in another thread. Is someone trying to host their avatar off somewhere they shouldn't be?

The page/thread opens in Safari just fine for me. colt_saa's avatar shows as a blue box is all (unable to display image). When I right-click on the blue box and choose "Open Image in a New Tab", I get that calzaretta login screen thing. It appears his avatar is hosted somewhere that requires a login to view.
