Bad, very bad things need to happen to the good “Reverend”. Mad I get really angry every time his commercial is aired. He’s a filthy shyster.

No, this weasel claims financial gains will be yours with the purchase of a teabag sized packet of his miracle water. Don’t know if you’re supposed to drink it, pour it over yourself or what.

He’s been a charlatan for decades. It’s pretty much common knowledge.

Evidently not common enough if he’s still fleecing people.
I hadn’t heard his name in a long time, so I guess that’s yet one more benefit of not watching the teevee. Thanks for letting me know that he is still around. Roll Eyes

That POS was soundly and definitively debunked on national TV...yet he came back from bankruptcy to hock his "Miracle Spring Water", which he himself admits is ordinary H20.

You're supposed to annoint yourself with the water, then send Petey a check for $27...and wait for a never-ending onslaught of mailers promoting the next step of your healing journey (all requesting further donations, oddly enough).

So, what do you think? Forum group buy (I mean donation)? How much water should we get?

It's scary that he has the money to advertise it so much. The water looks like it's in a ketchup packet and all these people say they bought the water and the next day a check for some high sum showed up in their mail. Sad he isn't in jail. It's like those invent companies

Yeah...I think Sheldon has the proper approach to this:

First time I saw that advertisement, my first thought was "SNAKE OIL SALESMAN"!!!! Like P.T. Barnum said..."a sucker is born every minute".

"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil... Therefore, as tongues of fire lick up straw and as dry grass sinks down in the flames, so their roots will decay and their flowers blow away like dust; for they have rejected the law of the Lord Almighty and spurned the word of the Holy One of Israel." - Isaiah 5:20,24

If you mean people that were taking financial advantage of the faithful, then yes, Jesus did chase merchants and moneychangers out of the temple.

But Poppoff takes it even further, by claiming to work/facilitate miracles. I don't believe the Bible ever records Jesus directly interacting with any false prophets/con men who were falsely claiming to work miracles in his name, although he did warn in several different sermons that they would appear.

It appears that Paul's encounter with Elymas in Acts 13 is the only direct encounter with a false prophet related in the New Testament, resulting in Paul rebuking Elymas and invoking the Holy Spirit to strike him blind.

Oral Roberts did the same thing, in his case they sent a square of cheesecloth (after a donation had been made), you placed it on your arthritic knee, brain tumor or whatever and sent it back (no doubt with another donation) where it would then be prayed over. So, you didn’t even have the crappy piece of cheesecloth to show for it. Roll Eyes
