I think both are in common use. Loose the hounds is the traditional call for sighthounds, who run their prey down (or chase the lure) at amazing speeds.

If you loose them, how do you find them again?

It can sometimes be hard with sighthounds, unless they are in an enclosed area (such as a greyhound track, or lure coursing field). They tend to be independent and not strong on obedience commands. Smile

Some excellent photos of neighborhood dogs.

* Photographer Vincent J. Musi used to always travel far from home on assignment
* Eventually stopped travelling and stayed at home in Charleston with his family
* Decided to quit working for National Geographic and photograph dogs instead
* Did not want to miss his son's formative years before he went away to college
* Took glamour shots of several adorable pooches, from Labradors to poodles

Thanks. She an awesome dog. Not very smart but she makes up for it by being so sweet. Best move we’ve made in a long time.

Fate hasn't been feeling well lately (long term steroids for skin issues) so Great-granddaughter Izzy thought she needed a hug and a chest rub.

Half-brother Chrichton got a kiss so he wouldn't feel left out...
