| Prayers for your aunt. I think Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s are even crueler than cancer.

Crusty old curmudgeon
| My sister-in-law has it and lives nearby so we see her often. It's amazing how quickly she went downhill to the point that she needs full time care. A horrible thing to witness. I feel your pain Leemur. Jim

Rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated
| Sorry to hear. My wife’s mom is suffering now, about time to put her in protective care. Sucks

| It's an awful disease, even worse than cancer as far as I'm concerned. Cancer steals the rest of your life, Alzheimer's takes the part you've already lived as well. I worked with Alzheimer's patients for years, and it was horrible watching them lose their minds, and know it was happening. I'm truly sorry you have had so many people close to you go through it.
"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people." "Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy." "I did," said Ford, "it is." "So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?" "It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want." "You mean they actually vote for the lizards." "Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course." "But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?" "Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in." |

Thanks but personally I’ve had a great life. These things find us all eventually. Save the prayers for the ones actually suffering, they’re the ones in greatest need. |

| I am sorry for what you are going through. We have been dealing with the early stages with my Mother for the last year. It is a cruel, cruel disease.

| My mom passed from heart failure. My dad passed from a lung infection. Both were getting a little slow in their thinking before they passed. Alzheimer disease scared the hell out of me. Sending good thoughts your aunts way Leemur. |
