I refuse to own a .380.

For your reason and because 9mm is becoming more available in smaller guns.

I only have one .380, a Beretta 85, and it is the only safe queen I have ever owned. It's too just too damn pretty to shoot, and too damn expensive to shoot as well.

I walk past the counter at the local gun shop, glance at the 2 dozen or so .380s in the case and just walk on by.

I'm staying off the .380 bandwagon.

Seems like 3-4 years ago .380 was an oddball caliber with a pretty small following. Then it became all the rage, I guess partly due to the popularity of the LCP and P3AT's getting dialed in?

Between ammo availability and price, I'll stick with 9mm. The PM9 is a fine little pistol.

I have a hard time accepting .380 as well. I have a P230 I never shoot because ammo is too expensive Frown I also don't understand why no one makes a tiny 9mm. A .380 is only about 2mm shorter right?

I carried a Walther PPKs for a while, until it broke then was recalled, then couldn't find .380 for it. Sold it and banked the cash for my 229 SAS in 40. The local hunting store has dozens of boxes of .40 sitting. $18/per 50.

I have heard a lot of complaints about "cheaper than dirt" and their prices, that is by far the deepest price gouge I have seen thus far. They need to change the name of their company. I never shopped there and never will

It's sad when i can buy .380 gold dots at my local overpriced gun shop for cheaper than this.

I'm seeing 380 way cheaper than that at Cabela's. As Kevin alludes, it's more an issue of CTD than the 380.

The surge of the 380 is simply the ultra compact pistols that have come on the market. When you are really dressed light, a LCP sure is nice.

I'd like to know what kind of dirt CTD is basing their prices on.

I'm not going to part with my .380s because of the price of the ammo.

Same here. I have an LCP that's an ideal-size pocket pistol. I was lucky - not smart - and accumlated an adequate stockp, er...supply of ball and JHP.

I own a bersa but don't carry it and, that reason along with the fact wifey likes it. Really fifty bucks just seems like pure price gouging to me, any old way you slice it. If this is a sample of their cheaper than dirt ammo I would hate to see their expensive ammo.

Why exactly is .380 ACP ammo so expensive in the first place? What makes it "special"?
