I thought Kali was bad, but I can't imagine being a State sanctioned CCW (or whatever you care to call it) and still have to deal with this crap.

---------------------

I think maybe you’re getting the wrong impression. There are a few place you can’t carry by statute... Bars serving 51% sales in alcohol, schools, hospitals etc. And any business has the “right” to deny carry by posting the correct sign. But, there are very few that actually post any kind of sign, be it the correct wording/size or not. Most people that carry simply do not patronize those places.

If they don't know why they lost your business they have no reason to change the policy. You don't have to point out that the sign is defective.

Fastdiablo-
If you're not comfortable sitting through a 2 hour movie while CCW, you aint carryin' right. P250/Bladetech UCH, 3:30 works for me.

S&W 340PD either in coat pocket or front pants pocket in a Galco Pocket Holster. Don't leave home without it! (You could watch Gone With The Wind with this rig and never have a problem.

I say technically defective because the enabling statute requires signage to have block letters, at least 1" high.........this sign did not have block letters, and while the capital letters were 1" tall, the lower case letters were not. So we looked at each other, decided that we weren't planning on brandishing and entered anyways.

I'm half-tempted to go back up there, ask to speak to the manager and point out to him that his signage is not correct and should be removed...I won't mostly because I'd rather leave that wiggle room available to others should they find themselves caught up in the "ban the guns" hysteria.

However, I still intend to go up there to register my objection to this action, to inquire as to whether this means that AMC and he are absolutely guaranteeing the safety of their patrons, and to make sure that he's aware that they've lost my business and will be publicizing as much as possible their wrong-headed stance.

But for damned sure, today was the last time I or any of the rest of my family do business with them!!!!! Mad

Whats funny is that I've been in Kansas for a month now and been to AMC theaters several times, never once seeing a sign. Apparently in Kansas the only thing they have to post is one of those "ghost busters" signs. Even more interesting is that AMC is based out of KCMO just across the river here. So AMC is posting 30.06 signs down in Texas, but nothing in their own backyard. Still trying to figure out why...

I carry my P229 at around 3:30-4:00 in a Milt Sparks Versa Max 2 and have sat through many a movie with it perfectly comfortably. I wear it most of the day, all day with no problem.

Keep your mouth shut and carry anyway...Everyone knows the manager will either tell you that there's nothing to worry about, as there are always cops on duty (lol) or he'll cite company policy and then you're fucked because they'll fix the sign.

Complaining is probably not going to change their policy but in the process they might realize the sign is not kosher. I'd just leave it alone.

One of our local theaters recently posted a sign prohibiting firearms.....along with outside food and drink, swearing and skateboards. It has no legal force so I ignore it. I carry concealed even though I could carry open so it's not a problem.

The reason they even put the sign there to start with was due to a guy who carried open, but and two extra mags, OWB in the theater. The theater found out it was not illegal for him to do so and were told that by the police. Now they have the sign.

Ok, I'll play. My Dark Knight fashion accessory was a G19...in a alessi shoulder rig with two extra mags. They had a no CCW sign on the door, and my wife just grinned at me, knowing I was carrying on my badge. It infuriates me that law abiding CCW holders have to deal with that crap.

I'm confused. They didn't lose your business that night, so why go back and tell them they are NOW losing your business?

But I carry in my pocket, so it is always comfortable, and I wouldn't say anything to them, and I haven't seen the new Batman movie.

I noticed today (haven't been to a movie in years but my 8yo wanted to SW:Clone Wars) our local Cinemark has a "No concealed weapons" sign. I didn't even give it a second glance. No 30.06, I'm going in.

Because I'd already purchased the tickets from their automated ticket kiosk outside...so we ignored the technically deficient sign, and watched the movie.

I've since spoken to the manager, got the "corporate policy" line, and advised that Cinemark's now got my business....posted AMC's policy on the bulletin board at the range under "ANTI-CCW Businesses"...

they posted a defective sign - which is the same as not having any sign

and you had to tell them it was wrong so they can now go and get it right?

whose side are you on anyway?

NHtag: I don't mind an honest opinion here, but is it too much to ask that you actually read and comprehend the original post before you decide to jump my ass and accuse me of not having the common sense that God gave a spavined goat? Roll Eyes

No, I didn't inform them of the defects of their sign...I clearly stated why I would not do so in my original post.

I informed them that their anti-gun stance had cost them my business (4 people once a week with a full service stop at the concession stand) as well as the fact that I was doing my damnest to make AMC's adoption of a GUN-FREE VICTIM ZONE policy.
