Nothing's been destroyed, no one injured, and I'm back to my old self. Decided to go to Saturday Evening mass rather than Sunday morning.

It helped, got a decent dinner, had some relaxing time with the wife, and slept in (well 9 am... that's sleepin' in for me).

Strangest feeling I've had in many many years, being so frustrated and angry. I sure hope it doesn't happen again for a long while, or ever.

I woke up that way most days for about 2 1/2 years after my last deployment.

Its much less frequent these days, but it's a pretty awful feeling.

Sometimes you just have to explore the anger, and let go of it.

Dunno if it turned out "well"... but it didn't turn out a disaster either.

Focus your anger at something that is inanimate, like a speed bag or similar. I have also found that door-to-door salesmen make great targets of anger and frustration, as does telemarketers.

I am probably a dick for making their day miserable, but they are in the business that gets the most crap, so why not?

I don't think I have.

I've woken up pissed at myself, but that usually involved what I found in the bed next to me.

I gots me a heavy bag in the geerage. It lets me abuse it whenever I feel the need.

Motorcycle ride therapy does not work during ice, hail, or lightning storms. The heavy bag therapy is immediate and it works. Besides, a good workout is supposed good for you. Notice I said supposed to be good for you. After Isaac Hayes death-by-treadmill (not proven) I question the good workout.

Go home and have a scotch...Nothing in the world can overcome the warm fuzzy feeling scotch leaves behind.

Or watch a movie.

I agree. I think sometimes it's a result of a dream or something you don't remember through the night. Can't say I've woken up pissed at the world but definitely days I can't deal with it.

When ever I get a "man period" and I lose my temper at something, I go and take a nap. Stupid, I know, but when I wake up I feel great and nothing bothers me.

Once when I was in High School I was working on a math problem. At that time our teacher gave us the answers and we had to work the problem. So I sat there for over an hour on one damn problem and could not work it to prove the answer. I friggin lost it, books and papers went across the room. I thought I broke the kitchen table, I hit it so hard. Up stairs I went to lay down, and in between sleep and "awake", the problem came to me like a bolt of lightning, one little part of the formula I'd missed. I sat up, went back downstairs and proved the answer right. I thought that was the strangest thing. I still remember that day 17 yrs later. So that is my personal way of dealing with that type of anger.....nap time. Big Grin

I actually did this weekend. I've found myself being increasingly annoyed at having to get up to the alarm clock on the weekends. It makes it feel like a regular week day.

I could schedule some of this crap for later in the day... but then that blows the afternoon & doesn't leave enough of the morning to get anything done. You're stuck "in town" for the entire day.

This usually doesn't bother me. When I "sleep in" it's only an hour or so. Normally I'm up before 8 AM on weekends. I think it has a lot to do with the scheduling being due to someone elses plans & not mine. Just like Omnday through Friday. By Sunday I had the general FIA attitude.

Its just one of those days
When you don't wanna wake up
Everything is f*cked
Everybody sux
You don't really know why
But you want justify
Rippin' someone's head off
No human contact
And if you interact
Your life is on contract
Your best bet is to stay away motherf*cker
It's just one of those days!!

[chorus]
Its all about the he says she says bullshit
I think you better quit
Lettin' shit slip
Or you'll be leavin with a fat lip
Its all about the he says she says bullshit
I think you better quit talkin that shit
(Punk, so come and get it)
Its just one of those days
Feelin' like a freight train
First one to complain
Leaves with a blood stain
Damn right I'm a maniac
You better watch your back
Cuz I'm f*ckin' up your program
And if your stuck up
You just lucked up
Next in line to get f*cked up
Your best bet is to stay away motherf*cker
Its just one of those days!!

[chorus]

I feel like shit
My suggestion is to keep your distance cuz right now im dangerous
We've all felt like shit
And been treated like shit
All those motherf*ckers that want to step up
I hope you know I pack a chain saw
I'll skin your ass raw
And if my day keeps goin' this way I just might break somethin' tonight...
I hope you know I pack a chain saw
I'll skin your ass raw
And if my day keeps goin' this way I just might break somethin' tonight...
I hope you know I pack a chain saw
I'll skin your ass raw
And if my day keeps goin' this way I just might break your f*ckin' face tonight!!
Give me somethin' to break
Give me somethin' to break
Just give me somethin' to break
How bout your f*ckin' face
I hope you know I pack a chain saw, what!!...
A chain saw, what!!...
A motherf*cking chain saw, what!!...
So come and get it
Big Grin

I don't usually like lyrics with so much profanity... but some days its cathartic to just put this in the cd player and pump it up.

I woke up this morning in a great mood then work happened and if anyone here is a browns fan, that clusterfuck of a game happened and a few or random things and my next few days will be very very similar to yours today. So I empathize with your dilemma. Nothing too major but sometimes you just need a break and I second the taking half a day to just nap.

Some people call that life. You are lucky it is only today for you.
