Apparently, this "celebrity" injured herself some time back and had several stitches taken in her face, nothing your average plastic surgeon and a small amount of makeup could not handle with no sweat. Yet for the past two weeks, I can't go on the internet without an update on the status of her face. Breathless reports daily leading up to the great unveiling on the country music awards. For God's sake, she got a cut on her face! It's not like she went to Lourdes and got cured of cancer. Perfect example of a press agent working overtime to keep his client's name in front of the public. Maybe I'm still pissed that she was never prosecuted for that song encouraging spurned females to deface their boyfriend's vehicles. | ||

I wouldn't categorize 40-50 stitches as "several". Given her celebrity and livelihood is based at least in part on her looks, I do see it as pretty significant. Not breaking news, 24/7 important, but from what I heard, it was a pretty serious fall and there was significant damage. That said, including your post have seen a grand total of about three references to it, and spend a LOT of time on the internet. Maybe the issue is your choice of websites? As to being prosecuted for a song, we do still have the first amendment and there are far worse acts described/glorified in "art" than a tale of a woman scorned trashing her boyfriends truck after he puts his dick where it doesn't belong. How many times on this very board do we hear the phrase "Don't want none, don't start none" What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???  | |||

I only saw one article, but I only learned who Megan Markle was yesterday. I thought maybe the name was a joke, like the old laugh in thing with the Sparkle family. Of course, neither woman is common on gun forums or political blogs. | |||

When you live with a face, you tend to become accustomed to it. When you see your own face with 40-50 stitches and the healing and/or scarred tissue and without all the makeup on it, you might have a different perspective than someone who watches you on TV. | |||

The whole thing disgusts me, too. The way the media has made this into some kind of story about overcoming diversity. Oh yeah, she's disfigured for life and oh, it's such a horrible struggle, being able to afford the absolute best medical care and the absolute best cosmetic surgery. And oh, she only has millions of fans and a staff of 50 people to wait on her hand and foot (gotta keep that gravy train a-movin'!) and oh, she only has the fawning, adoring press. Let me ask you- if you fell and injured yourelf, just who do you think would care? The answer is- very few people; your family and your friends, at least some of them, anyway, and that's about it. But, oh, this poor SUPERSTAR is ALL ALONE in her struggle!! Fucking horse shit  Take a look at this woman's face as it is today and tell me what all the fuss is about.  She'll soon be on some network "news magazine" show, sitting there looking like a MILLION BUCKS while ordinary people feel such great sympathy for her HORRIBLE plight....but they'll have to record the show and watch it later because they have to get up at 4:30 AM to make a living. I saw an interview today that she did and was actually surprised to see some damage — her upper lip and the area above her upper lip. It’s definitley scarred. She talks about the injury around the 8:20 mark. She talks about the “healing” process and how she was very fortunate. Ummm, ya’mean the facial reconstruction process?
