Our property is posted. Every 10' along the fence line. "Guard dogs" "Dogs will bite"

Got a visit from the Dog Warden today. Some dumbass decided to stick his hand thru the fence and pet the dog. Yep, he got nailed. Showed the Warden all the shot records but still has to quarantine the dog for 10 days and have him checked.

We'll do the same thing we've done in the past, the dumb-ass gets a bill for lawyer and vet bills. We've collected two times. A couple have outstanding judgments against them.

Wish I could say I am surprised by this incident. Unfortunately, I cannot. The stupid is running rampant in this country.

Of course there is the possibility that the bitee's education did not suffice to teach him how to actually read, and think.

I guess I just don't understand people, so a person sticks their hand through the fence after a posted warning then gets bit then goes whines about to a dog warden.

I wish the local law could have showed up and said to the person: "oh by the way here is a summons for trespassing one someone's property which you had no business being on in the first place."
(a dream I know)

Ulster, feel your pain.
Had a GSD many years ago, who only liked me, no other people to pet him and then only a little.

I had him chained up in the back yard out in the country. One neighbor next door and one an acre away.
Neighbor woman next door says she likes dogs wants to get to know my dog. I tell her NO, stay away from dog.
One day I hear a yell for help. I look out back in the middle of my back yard where my dog is tied and see the dog standing over the woman who is on her back looking up. The dog is staring right into her face.

I told her I do not get it, I told you. She said she knows a lot about dogs and just knew she could become friends.
Main thing is dog did not bite.

Hope you get your money back.

That mini dachshund is not afraid of anything.

They are built like a 10 pound Pitt Bull. Big chest and they strut. She could be in the middle of slaying the world and when our Grandson walks up, she rolls over for a belly rub.

These dogs have always had a special place in my heart. We were serving warrants in Chicago and one of the houses had one of these dogs. That damn thing ran around biting at everyone's feet and ankles. She exhausted herself defending her territory. I picked her up by the scruff of the neck and went eye to eye with her. She reached out and bit my nose, drawing blood. She stayed with her owner and I stopped by with a big bag of dog food, treats and bones.

I know what you mean. We had two mini's before, long since past, and three mini's right now. Of the 3, one is a total sweet heart we've had since she was a puppy.

The other two were from the Humane Society and then from a rescue group. Macie is the one from the rescue group and she is my little shadow. Where Daddy goes is where she wants to go. She will roll over for me to do belly rubs but will bite you if you try.

Jacks is the one from the Humane Society and suffers from the beaten dog syndrome. Also loves his Daddy and women, but if your a male, and walk away from him he will attack your heels. We've surmised he does not like men because that is who must have beaten him in the past.

Our trio is 12, 13, and 15 years old.

Just love mini-dachshunds.

And our attorney got the call. They are looking to hit the ghetto lottery.

Their attorney told ours "Pay medical bills and $100,00 pain and suffering"

Ours: "Well, my clients weren't injured so there won't be any medical and the $100,000 sounds good. When will we receive the agreement and check?"

Theirs: "NO, you pay us"

Ours: "That isn't happening"

What would possess anyone to stick their hand through a fence.

Reminds me of the joke where people passing by a hole in a solid wood fence heard a group of people chanting, "48! 48! 48!" One guy decided to peek and see and had his eye poked. Then the chanting changed to "49! 49! 49!"

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Any idea how bad the bite is. How can they even prove that your dog bit them?

Fairly sure our dogs bit something. The blood evidence is there.

Have no idea how bad the bite is.

Put up trail cams along the fence line.

Trail cams worked. Got excellent pics of a license plate and someone removing the signs off the fence.

Attorney withdrew the case. Will go for a judgement for attorney fees that we will never see.
