The Regal was in production from '73 to '04 in the US You have purchased a car at least 5 years old, and since you are happy that it had only 62K miles, I am going to guess the car is more like ten years old. Used cars break. Sorry you had a window problem. 400 bucks to fix it sounds high unless the window broke. Everyone gets unhappy when their car breaks....but a 'junk' or 'design' flaw? OK I guess...for all I know the previous owner replaced a window his kid smashed and did a lousy job on a 25 year old car

Prepare to have fun with the other windows as well, as houndawg said the regulators fail very quickly. Not to mention the window motors will start shredding the little nylon gears in them. If it makes you feel any better, the engine will most likely last longer than the car. The 3.8 is an awesome engine, very reliable.
