OMG! We need to move. My house has 5 bazillion stairs and we're 60-ish. I have arthritis. I kinda need a ranch. Wife won't leave Lexington. So, I contacted realtors....did I ever say realtors are lower than used car salesmen? I have lived frugally my whole life, saved about 20 percent of my gross since 1980. I ain't poor, but I wear Wal-Mart shirts and drive a 9 year old car. I LIKE most cheap shit. I want a nice, big, ranch style house with a 2 car garage and a big driveway. The rest really don't matter. I'd even really like a commercial style building, 3000 sq feet, garage door on one end and a kitchen and two bathroom setups on the other. I DON'T CARE about the interior, I'll put up office type partitions if I want 'em. NOBODY can even get me close to this, not even for a grip of money. Good grief, can't I even waste money effectively?

Sounds like you can take your time looking some, no big rush. It's a lot easier with a somewhat local move too, same State is a bonus.

If you find a good realtor, they can be a real 'force multiplier' when looking for a house or property. Yeah it's a pain to move, but your plan seems reasonable.
