I am trying to locate this semi recent dash camera video. It shows a cop, pulling over a DUI suspect. They talk around the tailgate of his truck, then without warning the suspect pulls a knife and the cop shoots him in the stomach with a .45 ACP at very close range. The guy acts like he was just sneezed on, still fights, the cop ends up handcuffing him and he still is fighting.

Has anyone besides me seen this video?

Very disconcerting if you carry a low cap .45!

It must have been a 9mm. If it had been a .45, he would have been blow over the truck. Roll Eyes

Lol, if you have to use 3 shots for every guy, like you suggested, the Mozambique drill. Why not carry a 9mm? Isn't the attraction/myth of the .45 is that you only need 1?

Don't get me wrong, I own .45's and love them, used to carry one. But really, these are just pistol rounds after all. I'm just more comfortable and confident in the 9mm.

I've been looking for it all day, hopefully someone else can get lucky and find it.

I remember the guy who gets shot, is wearing shorts.

I've seen it, but my search skils are no better than yours. The one I recall has been on "Wild Police Videos" or similar programs multiple times and is not recent. I remember the LEO wrestling with the guy and then a bystander helps him out.

Jeez. 9mm vs .45 again

It makes as much sense to say the cops should just have knives, since that's all this other guy needed. Anybody willing to volunteer getting shot in the belly by a 45 or a 9 to prove its ineffective? Anyone? Anyone?

The scene you describe is a very old video from 1993, involving a GA State Trooper at a rest stop. The cop asks the suspect to open a box in the bed of the truck, and the suspect takes out a knife and starts to open the box. He then attacks the cop with the knife. The cop shoots him once in the stomach with a .45 pistol, and then goes hands on.

I'll try to find you the rest of the video.

Nice find. I knew what video you were talking about but I couldn't find it either. They showed us this video in the Academy and went over it frame by frame. Lesson learned, you should always have a back up plan and don't make the mistake of thinking your gun is the end all. Any caliber...

This is why I carry a P220 with a Glock 19 for my reload.

If my 1 shot stop don't work with the 45, I unload 15 rounds of 9mm to their head.

I have a tomahawk. If you're in striking distance of someone trying to kill you, I can't think of anything better to have in hand.

Well I'm sorry I can't seem to find the entire video online. It's a very interesting video, especially the trooper's narrative.
