My friend went to Costco today and said they had plenty of TP and most everything else, but ground beef and eggs. Maybe we've made it through the worst!

WELL, how much TP can people really hoard and WHY. I don't get where they even got the bright idea to hoard TP. We make it in the United States from start to finish. I have a feeling it will start popping up soon.

People probably ran the bid up just to mess with the seller. But you never know these days when people are in crisis whether real or make believe.

I just told my wife to do exactly that. There's seven of us including my at risk parents. My wife tells me the stores are limiting other products as well; a dozen eggs per customer, two small packages of ground beef per customer, etc. At that rate, we'd have to go to the store everyday. We'll be bringing the kids to shop with us, but buying only what we need. For example, I bought one bag of dog food from the feed store. They had only two bags.

Update: One per household at Target. Foiled again.

$6100 for toilet paper? That’s a dude who was sent out for TP two weeks ago, went to the strip club instead. Ended up drunk, forgot about the TP, and has been hearing about it constantly for a fortnight.

Yeah, having a couple of VERY LARGE dogs, I bumped up the monthly resupply as well so I have 2-3 months of chow for them. One is a puppy and eats 8-10 cups a day for the next month or so, but thankfully he's about done with the mass growth phase, now it's all muscle development which tappers off to about 4-6 cups per day and the consumption of all his puppy fat.

I stopped at Target this morning before hitting the gym. They must have received a truck because there was a large quantity of paper towels, napkins and TP.

I bought a little bit since we have the bare minimum.

After the gym I ran up the road to hit the Walmart. I think I did rather well for groceries except for chicken, eggs and biscuits which they were out of. They also had a small quantity of paper towels and TP. I could have saved some money buying there instead of Target.

Publix was doing 2 cases of water per person. I kind of see this as a bad thing too, some of the quantity limits are so low that people have to go grocery shopping much more often and create more risk of spreading and contracting the disease. But then there are the hoarders that will wipe out an entire shelf of something who screw it up for the normal people.

I went grocery shopping last Saturday, only thing I really needed was fresh vegetables, and the only 2 they were out of was carrots and cabbage and I was making corned beef for dinner so had to stop at Aldi for those.

The dynamics have shifted from a lot of meals being eaten at restaurants, to most meals being eaten at home. So now the grocery stores are way overwhelmed at least on meat and produce, yet the restaurant supply companies (Sysco, Cheney Bros) have tons of fresh meat and produce and no way to sell it as they're not set up or portioned for retail.

Hopefully they can solve that problem. Two local casinos sent 25000 pounds of fresh food to the food banks. They will be eating very well for a while.
