Zero tolerance for racism! Login/Join

So, my very progressive leaning employer has "zero tolerance" for racist epithets regardless of who says them, and who they are directed at, regardless of intent (offense, joke, side comment, whatever). They even say joking reference to epithets between people of same race with no malice is prohibited.

So after numerous violations of policy I busted my Indian (born, educated, and employed before transfer) boss for using the word "honky" as a joke many times.

When he became my boss I told him to stop because all racial epithets are unacceptable. He challenged my right to be offended and said the other white guys didn't mind.

So in the end, I don't have to work for him anymore, and we are peers and I report to the big boss. But "zero tolerance" hmmmm, I know if I said some particular words I would be fired in an instant. Seems racist Indians who use racial epithets against white people get a free pass, at least on the first reported offense.

Push start or pull start Indian?

Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.

Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

A push-start is a Dot-Head, like the start button on machinery), pull-start is a Rag-Head, like the rope on a lawn mower.

I never got any advantage out of my skin color, but now am supposed to receive the punishment for my skin color too.

This sucks.

Yech. Most Indians are quite sociable but the few brahmins that I met had superior attitudes. They mistook being lucky and privileged.

Being white is a sin. That's Black Liberation Theology. Jeremiah Wright is a big adherent and taught his most famous pupil all things hateful of Whitey, except his cash, of course.

I'd start keeping records. If heat ever comes your way, you can use those records to point out the inconsistency of the company policy, and lob a claim right back at them.

HR said they took "all appropriate action" but now he is not my manager anymore and I report to the Director like I used to before they created the manager job for him.

He has the superior attitude like you wouldn't believe. Always right, never wrong, never apologizes for his tantrums. Suppliers hate to work with him and they tell me directly, asking me to be the project lead and contact point.

I have documented his behavior for two years and gave it all to HR. No sweeping this under the rug. He also tries to use company resources for personal use (sending personal items company FedEx) but the admin refused and went to her boss.

But I KNOW if I was walking around using anti-Indian slurs as jokes I would be out the door.

Now he won't speak to me or acknowledge my presence in the desk next to his. It's comical the vindictive rage he has, but now he has to bottle it all up. I'm going to act normal and say "good morning" every day nice and cheery.

When he blows up again it's going to be a sight to see... it's inevitable because he is following the cycle to abuse to a T.
