...the public sidewalks.
So just say you were walking down a sidewalk in midtown Atlanta...and suddenly found your way blocked by a number of very large men. And upon inquiring of why they would be blocking a public sidewalk you were told...in rather rude tones and language...that some creature called "Doody" or "Doopey" or "Diddy" was shortly to arrive... And thus you can either wait...or walk out into oncoming traffic lanes to get around these very large, imposing looking men. Now...it so happens that you are carrying both a P220 .45 ACP and small .357 magnum revolver legally concealed on you. You ask the large imposing men to once again simply let you pass without having to run around them in the street full of heavy traffic. They refuse...and in their refusal not only insult but actually threaten you if you dare insist on using this public sidewalk... What do you do? |

You cannot walk through them...you are a skinny middleaged guy..and they are four extremely large younger than you men...think out of shape NFL linemen.
Every one of them outclasses you at least three to one in weight and muscle. |

wait for a break in the traffic and walk around them. Yes they are self absorbed meat-heads; but they are not worth it. there are better things to be bothered about . . .

You could always file a complaint about them blocking a public thoroughfare. I don't know how much good that would do, but it seems to be the best course if you really want to take some sort of action.

I had a friend that called the cop on a group very similar to that in Chicago and when a cop came turns out more then one of the guys had a handgun on him and was a felon. And zip wins.  This actually happened to me. These men were not trained bodyguards, they were simply hired thugs. A trained bodyguard would have noticed that I was wearing a photographers vest and a basketweave Ranger belt...in a state that encourages concealed carry. He would have assumed that I was armed and guessed by the gray in my beard that perhaps I have been handling pistols long enough to know how to use one...and he would have simply let me pass. But these thug piles of muscle recognized none of this...I could have simply stepped back a few paces and put .45 ACP Hydrashoks into every one of them. But I did not...I scampered out into oncoming traffic around them.....because... When other people do stupid, idiotic things...it is no reason for you to follow suit. ESPECIALLY when it involves guns... |

Sounds like sidewalk rage. If they were under their tight fitting t-shirts...I applaud their ability to conceal a large handgun. I am not an amatuer at this crap.  And there was no "sidewalk rage" on my part...I refused to participate in their sillyassed horseshit. What part of that did you miss? |

A trained bodyguard would have been wearing a watch, been able to actually read it & not blocked the entire sidewalk attracting unwanted attention well before their client had arrived. The gentlemen your saw were in fact "thugs" or are they are often also referred to... "bullet magnets". |

Attitude has nothing to with it. 160 pounds of middleaged me versus at least 800 pounds of much younger them. I cannot bull my way through them...and getting close enough to them to allow them to put their hands on me would be just plain stupid. My only advantage is that I am armed and if I am denied use of my arms I am helpless. Distance in this case equals safety...the last thing I want to do is wade into these nitwits and allow them to deny me the use of my weapons. |
