New house, no water Login/Join

Our home was rebuilt due to a fire. Over the past several weeks, we've noticed a drop in water pressure. Flush a commode, water pressure in the shower would drop significantly.

Woke up this morning, and nada. Only water coming out is a slow, rust colored dribble. Plumber is coming out to check the line from the road to the house.

Brand new water softener grenaded. Filled all our water lines with a resin from the tank.

Plumber that came out was the one that installed it. They are flushing lines, pulling screens off all the faucets, replacing all the insides of the toilets.

Yea, he's footing the bill. He left 3 of his apprentices here to work on the issue with me.

There are green resin pellets everywhere, your can barely make them out with the naked eye.

We turned off the water to the house, pulled the stems from the outdoor faucets and turned the water back out. Streams of the resin came out.

Will get a new water softener and a new water heater.

Every screen on every faucet has to be pulled and cleaned. Screens on the intake on the back of the washing machine. It's a mess.

I hope the water softener manufacturer is reimbursing him.

Just finished for the day. The 3 guys have busted their ass all day.

We have about 2 five gallon buckets of the pellets we have collected.

Any chance it can damage your septic system? That is if you are on one.

That has to be pumped to see how much of the resin got into it.

The softener was designed to accommodate 6 people.

Putting the dishwasher back in and the washer has been flushed. Water heater (new) is about to get flushed. If a bunch comes out, it gets replaced.
