So, I really wanted to try some Slip 2000, as I am going to being doing a gun class and expending a lot of rounds.

I go online and order a 3 pack with the cleaner, delead and lube. The shipping was too much for what the item cost. To get free shipping, I ordered some other things I could use to make the price that you need for free shipping.

Today after 3 days, I go back on their website and do a live chat to find the status. I got an order confirmation shortly after I ordered.

I asked the status of my order with my order number. The guy tells me that if it had shipped, they would have sent an email. I said yeah but what is the status? I wait 20 mins and he never answers.

Tonight I get an email that tells me they no longer handle Slip 2000, so they did not ship that, but they did ship the rest of the order and since I no longer meet the free shipping limit, I will be charged shipping.

I am really mad about this. I think I should have gotten an email that they no longer carry it, what do we do. The status when I ordered was "In Stock". That is the deal I made and now they have broken the deal. They did tell me that they would send me a 5% off coupon for my next order.

I will not have a next order. I am cancelling the payment with the CC company. I sent them an email to tell them what I think of this whole deal as I did not get an email until 10:15pm tonight.

If I knew if I was allowed to mention the name of the company doing this, I would, but do not want to do it of not allowed.

I have dealt with this company before and had zero issues, but do not think they handled this right. I did not agree to extra charges and to not getting an item listed as in stock.

Your position sounds reasonable to me. They should have contacted you, and certainly covered the shipping if you chose to keep the order. Now they lost the whole order and possibly a customer.

You did the right thing. I would have refused the shipment and then contacted the credit card company.

I would like to know what company has such screwy practices.

It sounds like you have a legitimate gripe, so I would totally name them. Who was it?

Okay,
So now I have made an issue of this, I have to eat a little crow. I can handle that, I have eaten it before.

I misread the email they sent. They did NOT cancel the Slip 2000 3 pack I ordered, they cancelled the Wilson combat 4oz lube I ordered.

I called today and the gentleman I talked to said that though I no longer qualified for free shipping, they waived the fee and were going to give me a 5% off my next order.

So, I am happy with that, but am just glad that It was not the Wilson combat lube that was my main reason for ordering.
Optics Planet was the place and I have never had any problem with them before at all.

The guy I talked to did not tell me why when I went and did the online chat, the order change was never mentioned.

Thanks for posting that. Appreciate your honesty. A lot of people would not have bothered.

I had to call them again and they have been nothing but first class to deal with.

I guess it is true about the difference between calling someone and texting or emailing.

Calling eliminates a lot of misunderstanding.

Enough said.

Glad it turned out okay. Hell, I'm impressed that your order shipped (or at least you think it did) before the standard 16 month Optics Planet "pending" delay.

Let us know when you actually get your order, k?

Yes, will let you know when I get it.

I did find out that when they send the email that your order has shipped...it has not actually shipped. The warehouse has been notified to ship the order.

They are a drop shipper for a LOT of items. I dont think they actually keep much in stock. So yeah, their "in stock" items means, "we hope the distributor has it so they can send it to you, otherwise we will just cancel that item, or keep it on backorder for 18 months".

I did not know about the drop ship thing.

But I got the items today, delivered by our postwoman. Originally shipped by fed ex.

So, shipping time was not too bad.

I did order something else, from Sams and paid extra for us to receive it by Tuesday and found out today, we should get it by Wednesday.

I've ordered from Optics before. I get the impression they don't really inventory what they sell. It's always slow shipping. Sometimes they have the lowest prices and I don't mind waiting. But since getting amazon prime, it has been my go to place.
I can get 4 oz of slip for 13 bucks or 16 oz trigger spray for 24 bucks both 2 day shipping free.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Slip 2000 EWL or EWL30 is what you want...not the regular Slip gun lube. The regular gun oil is too thin for AR15 use (in my opinion) and is not the lube that gave them a great reputation.

You know, bubba, I thought that is what I ordered, but I did not. I did order the 3 pack, but did not order what I wanted to. I had ordered some Wilson combat lube also, and that is what was cancelled.
