If you watch something, decide you don't like it, and stop watching it, it stays in your Continue Watching queue for weeks to remind you of your mistake.

You can go online and clean up your queues if you want. At least you could a while back.

Still can go in there and clean up what you've watched. Whenever I quit watching something that wasn't good, I delete it so I'm not getting recommendations based on it.

You can also fast forward to the end, and Netflix registers that you watched the whole thing. Same with a series - watch the last episode, fast forward to the end, and the entire series disappears from the queue.

Thanks for that LastCubScout. I'll give that a try.

Through a karma here, I got 3 months free Netflix plus I registered for 30 days free.

Not having Netflix for about 8 years, I was surprised at the dearth of big screen movies on the selection.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Completely agree. The movie selection is much higher for discs than for streaming, unfortunately.

I wish something I had watched would drop from the menu. I don't watch Netflix very much anymore. The selection is pretty poor these days.

With the ROKU remote, I highlight/select the unwanted item and press star (*). Select remove from the menu that appears and press OK. Gone!

Pretty much every complaint anyone posts here is a first world problem. It's a given; however, we're accustomed to living that first world life so any complaints we make should be accepted as inferring a first world problem.

^^^ I know what you mean. I could have a whole rant about the response "First World Problem." It basically means you're being a baby because there's people with flies drinking out of their eyes somewhere in the world. Well you know what? It doesn't mean that you cannot have a gripe about something in the developed world, being that's where we live and all. As a child, Mom would tell me to eat my beats because someone was starving in China, as if that was supposed to make the beats better. Nope. They still sucked, and the kids in China were still hungry either way, and I still had the "first world problem" of nasty beats.

RE: Netflix. At least go and spend 44min on Thunderbolt. Seeing all that P47 action in Italy, filmed in rare color, is so worth it.

They need to create lockable profiles. It's too easy for any child to choose either one and go see whatever they want.

That's another gripe of mine. I only have the one account but it keeps asking me which account I want to view! Uh...there's only one choice! Quit asking me!

My parents stopped telling me about starving children elsewhere in the world the first time I told them they should pack up my leftovers and ship them to the starving people.

You can delete the "Kids" profile that Netflix put there by default. Log onto the Netflix web site, look at upper right and hover over your name. Click on "Manage Profiles" and delete any you're not using. Once you're down to a single profile it should just load without a query.

I don't think the Netflix apps on Roku, Apple TV, smart TVs, Tivo, etc. let you manage profiles so it needs to be done on the Netflix site.
___________

Roll Eyes Also, the trite phrase "first world problems" pisses me off too. Just because I have electricity and my health care isn't via witch doctor doesn't mean I have to feel guilty about it. A bit of Sam Kinison is appropriate here:

"You want to help world hunger? Stop sending them food. Don't send them another bite, send them U-Hauls. Send them a guy that says, "You know, we've been coming here giving you food for about 35 years now and we were driving through the desert, and we realized there wouldn't BE world hunger if you people would live where the FOOD IS! YOU LIVE IN A DESERT!! UNDERSTAND THAT? YOU LIVE IN A FUCKING DESERT!! NOTHING GROWS HERE! NOTHING'S GONNA GROW HERE! Come here, you see this? This is sand. You know what it's gonna be 100 years from now? IT'S GONNA BE SAND!! YOU LIVE IN A FUCKING DESERT! We have deserts in America, we just don't LIVE in them, assholes!"

I actually did that long, long ago. But it still asks me from time to time. It's only when I view Netflix on my Apple TV that it does this, though.
