I am having a brain cloud. After shooting my Supermatch for a couple of hundred rounds, it is time to adjust my sights. It is shooting 2" left and 3" low from 10 yards. I have six different pistols in the P220 platform, the other five are fine as far as sighting goes. I am very comfortable with these pistols and have over 20 years trigger time in this platform.
Now to my question. I can not get any movement on the elevation adjustment screw. I have a set of 'smith driver bits so the bit does fit properly. I have tried moving the set screw either way thinking that it may be maxed out on one end of the adjustment. I did use one drop of penetrating oil and left it sitting up overnight. Still no luck. I am a little leery of putting much more torque on the screw because eventually the driver will slip. Am I missing something here. I have adjusted sights a few times over the years and never encountered this...especially in a 18 month old pistol. Ideas? Thanks, Paul |

Does the rear sight feel like it is in the lowest position? Press on the sight blade and see if you can press it lower. If you can then it is not maxed out and the screw may be stripped. If you cannot press it lower then it is maxed out.
Either way you may want to call Sig. I have adjusted several of these and never had a problem moving the screw. Good luck |
