In another thread we were talking about trying to get a replacement barrel to do caliber changes in the batch of 40 S&W SP 2022's that are selling right now.

If you bought a new barrel, you would probably need to have a notch cut into it.

Do you think it would be possible/safe to remove the LCI? What about removing some of the material?

I'm thinking about grinding some of the LCI down on my 2022(9mm). I started thinking about potential wear it might produce on a leather holster that I'm getting for Christmas this year.

Comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

It seems to me that the LCI can be easily removed by driving out the retaining pin in the slide.
