You are very welcome. Ya' know, over 4 dozen members have used mine and as long as it is returned, I will continue to let others use it.

Hello SIG Fellows, thank you for having me in this forum... I just bought a SIG PRO SP2340 (still made in Switzerland) and I love it. I am amazed by the fact that many of you are ready to lend expensive equipment to each other... This is the way things should be! I am itching to get Trijicon night sights... (my local gunsmith would only install Meprolights). Do you believe that someone without gunsmithing experience would be able to install them without too much trouble? If so, I would order them and contact SIG2340 to be added to the queue. Take care, all of you!

After the well publicized home invasion in Cheshire, CT, I decided that I should get new Sig-lights for my P-226. The problem was that when I called the local gun shops, nobody seemed to have a proper Sig sight pusher tool. They were happy to sell me the sights and would be happy to install with a hammer... No thanks. Mad I had already learned about sight pushers from the Sig Forum, so I decided that I could learn how to remove and install the sights by reading the threads on the forum and then buy the tool to do it myself. Well, I soon found there was another option thanks to some specific members in the Armorers section of this forum! What a wonderful thing to offer fellow Sig owners!

I thought I would post to express my appreciation to the forum and in particular Sigseller2000 for the loan of his sight pusher tool. I received the pusher yesterday when I came home and installed the sights last night.

I am a “replace as original” kind of guy so I had bought new Trijicons a couple of months ago. They now have the white circle around the tritium lights. Eek This was the first sight replacement that I have ever done and I was a bit apprehensive about changing out the old set on my 14 year old P-226 which bench-rested dead-on accurate. So before I removed the old sights, I measured the slide-to-sight depth as best I could with a depth micrometer (slightly askew as a result of the slide angle). I found that the front sight blade top was equal distant from each side measuring .315 of an inch. The rear sight was clearly set .025 to the left with L=.175 and R=.200. I installed the new rear Trijicon with the same off-set.

Today I went to the range to bench-rest test the sight installation. I was amazed. I’ve got my old Sig back with new lights and it required no further adjustment. Thanks Sigseller2000! Big Grin

A note to any who would try this as a first time venture: Allow enough time to reread all the instruction materials for the specific sights that you ordered and enough time to read the instructions that may come with the pusher. Removal was easier than installation. Be aware that the tool has two sides to it and the slide must go into the more open side of the tool or you may not be able to remove the slide from the tool after the rear sight is positioned. You may encounter a rear sight (as I did) that seems to start better from the right hand side rather than the left (when viewed from the shooters position). This may require hammering or drifting the sight with a wooden dowel into the dovetail until it is flush with the side of the slide. It will then fit into the tool for further centering. The pushing/pulling piece of the tool mounts on the adjusting shaft end with a 11/32 bolt. I found it handy to have a wrench available for this because when adjusting counter-clockwise and pulling the sight to the right, the mounting bolt (rather than an adjustment) proved to be the turn of least resistance. Have fun, respect the tool and express appreciation to these great guys.

Yes, installing sights using the tool is straightforward. Email me with your snail mail address info and I'll ship my Pro tool Priority mail.

I have a set of MMC adjustable sights on the way. I have a couple of questions.
1) Are these sights worth the money ?
2) how tight are the dovetails will I need to some fitting? Are the dovetails directional ? (I have one pistol that gets tighter from left to right)
3) How do I get in line to use the sight pusher tool ? (P226)
4) Do I really need the sight pusher ? I have installed a few other sight sets with the old drift punch method and never had any problems.
Thanks for advice on this. This is my first sight install on a SIG pistol.

P-220 lent me his pusher a couple years ago when I was brand new on the forum. He is a fine person, and a fine person to work with.

Dear Sig2340,
I would like to borrow your sight pusher for my SP2022 please.
It shoots just a little left off the rest, and I am not thrilled with the idea of tapping the night sights.

Thanks, look forward to hearing from you.
Later,
Doug

We may come off as not willing to give out the pushers, when the case is just that we don't check here. My $.02, I know this comes off like me sounding like an ass, and that is exactly what I don't want. It is much easier for you to email us, than having us continually checking here to see who needs assistance.

Dear Sig2340,
I centered the sights on the slide, and was able to
go to the range yesterday.
Perfect!
I wonder why the sights were not centered at the factory?
Posted pusher back to you yesterday PM.
Thank you for your time and generosity.

Later,
Doug

I'm running into a similar situation as other members with local smiths wanting to hammer my 226 into submission. Could I get in line for a sight tool?
thanks.

My tool is for the SigPro line. Check the first post in this thread (page 1) for the list of folks with the P-series sight tools.

PS. It would be easier for folks to contact you if there was an eddress in your profile.
