Well, not always first round, but that's how it seemed to start. My SP2022 in .40 S&W has been missing 1-2% of the rounds. A simple fix is to pull the trigger again but as I'm trying this in USPSA I'd rather have a bit more reliability!

I'm just now cleaning out the firing pin tube and it doesn't seem that bad. Gun is totally stock and only a couple years old. Anything I can look for?

My reloads tend to work in all the other guns I load for; this one is the only one having issues.

If these are reloads it may be your primers are too hard. Which brand do you use?

Wolf, CCI, and Federal. I have a cowboy rifle with the same issue but that's because a previous owner or 'smith chopped the main-spring.

Unless I got a bad lot of primers, and I don't discount that possibility, it'd worry me if a stock gun can't ignite most anything standard.I'll try to keep the next one that misfires and see what the primer indentation looks like.

Light primer hits on DA trigger pull. Had one at the range just now and the primer indentation is significantly lighter than any of the others. However, I did several shots with DA trigger and only had one fail to fire. However, o This was a Wolf primer so it's supposed to be slightly harder.

Hmm...

I took the gun apart a few months ago and my current thought is that I didn't put it back together exactly right. WIll go over th eDVD shortly and try again; I have a match tomorrow that I want to be ready for.

I've had the same problem on a Dan Wesson 357 that I used for PPC. But that was do to a lighten trigger and CCI primers. They say they are the hardest primers. When I switched to Federal Primers I never had another problem, with the revolvers. I use Winchester and Fedaral primers in my Sigs with no problem.

Haven't gotten it stripped and cleaned yet, but I did douse it with some CLP after the first two rounds gave me a light primer strike. That seemed to cover it, only had one during the 72 round match. Will strip, clean, and lube it and see if that helps.
