Any of the learned folks here have experience, long or short-term, with Eezox Syntetic Premium Gun Care?
Thumbs up or thumbs down? Thanks in advance for your insights. Edit... this is the stuff in question http://www.eezox.com/gun-care.html This message has been edited. Last edited by: JRC, |

You can find some past threads with "find" (aka search) above. Use "eezox" as keyword.
I've never used it, but know that SEECAMP ships in the case with their pistols. *************************************** What type of cheese would you like with your whine? |

JRC -
Here is a reply to a similar question earlier : "Good Day , Thank you for your inquiry. The following is my opinion based upon my use and with my equipment. Others may agree, disagree or enhance the use of it over other products. So for an initial trial, I suggest the 4 ounce can and the 7 ounce spray. As you grow to like it (or not) or get additional pieces it would probably be more cost effective to get the larger quantity containers: When I started using EEZOX, I had one SIG pistol and several shotguns. I stared with the 4 ounce can, which has a flip up top on it, and the 7 ounce spray aerosol can. The 4 oz can made it easy to apply to a patch or to run some into a barrel or other internal space without generating much waste through over spray. The aerosol can is great for applying to any surface, however, with most spray’s it will generate some waste through over spray, although I never really considered the over spray to be a problem. One of the major benefits of the spray can is using it to apply a light spray to a lint free rag (I use cotton, but almost any cloth will do – some leave more lint reside than others) and use it for a wiping cloth after you have processed your piece with EEZOX, either the spray or the liquid. The best of the three capabilities of EEZOX is the preservation capability. After cleaning, or periodically if the piece is in storage, a quick wipe with the EEZOX sprayed rag will remove fingerprints, marks, and any moisture if any is present. It is also has excellent cleaning properties and is easy to handle. Probably the least effective capability of EEZOX (again my opinion based on use with SIG pistols – both alloy frame and stainless) is the lubrication properties. Using the directions for EEZOX with application, then drying does in fact provide a good lube base. This is documented through several military use trials and specifications. However, I believe (my opinion again) my SIG’s function a lot smoother and thereby causing less wear on the frame and rails with a good grease application. I use either TW25B grease or Enos’s Slide Glide on the rails, frame and barrel lugs. EEZOX cleans any residue of these products very well, and has caused no problem to date. [Another note – If you use a grease of any type on your rails and such, alcohol (either 91% or 99%) the alcohol will clean off the grease and residue a bit quicker than EEZOX – and be a bit less expensive in the long run. A re-application of EEZOX and the alcohol cleaning puts you right back into a high preservation state.] Now, if you are still with me – I use EEZOX to clean the barrels of the weapons, but I still use Hoppe’s #9 for soaking the pistol barrels if I have been through a multi-day shoot or there appears to be some copper or jacket fouling developing. I clean several pistols per week, so I make it a matter of course to run a brush through the barrels then drop them into Hoppe’s for a soak while I clean the rest of the pistol(s). The last point, I now use: an 18 ounce spray can, the 7 ounce spray can; the 4 ounce can; a 1.5 ounce dropper bottle; and the .95 ounce Oiler with the needle-type spout for delivery to tight spaces. The 18oz, 4 oz and .95 oz are the main stay in my workshop, while the 4oz and .95 oz containers are always in my travel/toolbox cleaning kit. My apologies for being so long winded, but EEZOX is a good product, and I wanted to share my usage of it with you." I hope this assists in your decison making. We currently have an ad in the Classified Section for EEZOX discounted to SIGforum members. _____________________________________ - Chance favors the prepared mind - |

I thought I replied to this one already; perhaps it was on another forum. Briefly, I like Eezox for cleaning, and for lubing firearms that do well with DRY lube. SIGs are not good candidates for dry lubes. Grease your SIGs after cleaning!
I just ordered the quart size. Have Colts, will travel |

Eezox is one of the best anti-corrosion products I have used (never had a gun rust since I've been using it), and is an excellent mild cleaner. However, I still use quality gun oil/grease for lubrication.

I agree with those who use grease. Friction isn't the only issue. No viscosity = no protection for those alloy frame rails.

I absolutely love EEZOX but it is not a replacement for oil or grease. The viscosity or lack of makes it much much better as a protectant but not a lubricant. I use it this way exclusively and think it is the best. .02 Blackwater P226R * Equinox P229R/40 * P239/357sig/40sw * P229 40/357 Reverse TT GOTM * P220ST Nitron * P229R/9 * X-Five Tactical * P220 Super Match * P226 non rail 357/40 |

My original interest was as a good exterior protectant against sweat salts, moisture, etc.
Still anticipated using a generous serving of Slide guide on the rails, etc. Is this sound thinking? |
