Looking for a new 40 cal snake at Brownells, I saw this item that seems to be the same snake with a sturdier case and a new (to me) plastic t-handle:

I use snakes at home for all my calibers, the only one where the t-handle would be useful is the Rem 870 but I've managed without it. I'll order this, but I doubt I'll use the t-handle.

When did Hoppes start supplying this t-handle with snakes?

Been using 'bore snakes' forever since they first came out. Both on pistol and rifle, I like to use the cord wrapped around my fingers for a comfortable pull (not stretching my arms). The 't' handle is comfortable on the .17 caliber because of the small diameter of the cord. I don't see the value on a larger diameter cord when pulling on it.
Also, if you are handy and creative you can make up your own 'bore snake' depending on the size of the cord and caliber of what you are swapping.

On the inside looking out, but not to the west, it's the PRK and its minions!
