I have an old 22 that could use some touching up. I was wondering if anyone has tried Brownell's Aluma-Hyde 2 finish?
http://www.brownells.com/aspx/ns/store/ProductDetail.as...tle=ALUMA-HYDE~%20II I'd really like an inexpensive method of protecting some bare aluminum. Thanks in advance. "Idealism is fine, but as it approaches reality, the costs become prohibitive." - William F. Buckley, Jr. |

I have used the semi-gloss black.
Prep is everything. Don't skimp. Follow the instructions. It took 11 days for it to fully cure on the biggest job I used it on. So be patient. "It is easier to fight against a loss than to ever get it back after you lose it. " Joe Nava |

It works fine the secret is to get the part to be painted about 90 degrees, then paint and let cure for 24 hours under a heat lamp or at 90 degrees, the paint actualy takes about a week to cure after that it is almost impossible to remove.
